Three (Virgin, AOL, and Alapage), but they all operate under the same system. If you try the other two, you'll notice that they actually just re-direct to Virgin.

Here's the run through of the process to make an account, since folks seem to be interested, despite the fact that it won't work for most of us (not having French addresses or credit cards)

Again, to be clear, this won't get you the song, but it's the process:



Click "ajouter au panier" for the song you want to add.

Click "inscrivez-vous" on the top right. This will bring up a drop box. Click "inscrivez-vous" again.

The top box on the left is for a login name. The second and third box are to choose your password (put it in, then repeat)

The drop-box on the right is the "reminder question." Default is "nom de jeune ville de la mere" being your mother's maiden name. Enter your mom's maiden name in the box below the dropdown.

Enter the number that appears in the little picture in final box, and continue.

On the next page, civilité is title. M. for Mr., Mme for Ms., and mlle for Mrs.

Prénom is first name

Nom is last name

Anneé de naissance is year of birth.

Adresse e-mail is your email addy.

Format d'envoie des e-emails is if you prefer html or text emails.

Souhaitez-vous recevoir la newsletter VirginMega.fr ? asks if you want to receive the Virgin newsletter.

Souhaitez-vous recevoir la newsletter partenaire ? asks if you want partner advertising

Code postal is your zip code

Pays is your country (Etats Unis D Amerique is USA)

Both boxes with Je reconnais avoir pris connaissance... must be checked to agree with the terms and conditions of the site.

It then tells you they can't offer download service to the non-French folks, because they have to protect the rights of the artists.

From this small clip of the final version, I prefer the rough version. The final version sounds heavily processed. The rough version sounded more natural.

Of course, this small clip is on Youtube, and Youtube has a tendency to heavily compress things, and this could be why it doesn't sound as good as the rough cut.
