Good to see you finally heard the whole album, wasabi! I was quite surprised by La Candida. I typically don't enjoy the sound of the Spanish language as much as some people, but if anybody could make me like it, it would be Alizée!

The first 10 seconds of Grand Central makes me ponder what an Alizée Christmas album would be like.

Mes Fantomes just gives me a tingly feeling and just shoots awesomeness into my emotional valve. I am loving this album like it's my dog, I just can't get bored of it. Oh wait I've only heard the whole thing twice
and a close second to A Coeur Fendre and 14decembre for their amazing electroness

Well, I just listened to it from a download last night but ripped the songs from the disc today. I absolutely love "Eden, Eden" and will probably call that my favorite. Others are primarily Grand Central and Factory Girl. Her voice is better than I expected for this. I really like the high note she hits in the bridge of A Couer Fendre. As for Mes Fantomes, for some reason I didn't see as much in it as most other people here.
Sorry, but I think the percussion on this album is generally atrocious. There is no impact or drive to almost any of it. (especially in songs like Eden Eden and La Candida) This album could have gone up another 2 points out of 10 I think if it had good percussion and more "Alizee-like" sounds. I have waited until this album came out to select a track to rework, I think it's about that time.

I do agree the percussion is a bit lacking, part of the reason I love MCÉ so much. But this may just be a product of the style of the album. I do not know many examples of this type of music, elctropop, if you may. I also agree with you song choices, except A Couer Fendre. Not really in love with that one. But Les Collines is, I don't know. Hard to describe why I like it. It has something, that simply draws me to it. Like A Contre-courant. It is not partcularly moody, does not feel like it leads to one side or another. It just draws me like a magnet. Really, the only word I have for it is 'clean'. I love that I don't have to try to like. I just do!

By the way, I have already heard the whole album 5 times and am not able to pick a favorite. I like it very much. Need some time to decide |
