Alizée sings great ...
I don't know what my point is posting this thread, but I was watching the Sound of Silence video from the Moscow concert, and when it was over the Ma Priere video from Graines de star popped up. I haven't watched it in a long time so I clicked on it...
I must admit I was surprised how great she sounded on Graines de star. She also sounded amazing on the Sound of Silence video (even though it was a bad recording). I guess what I am getting at is I think the songs on the new album are very hard to perfom live, just by the way the music and stuff is written. Maybe this kind of shows the weakness of a more amature musician (like Jeremy). Although I really like a lot of his other music, never heard it live though. I know I can't base anything off of crappy bootleg copies of the Moscow concert, and I am not trying to .. I would pay $1000 to listen to her sing Happy Birthday off key all day long. I guess the point of this is just to point out how awesome Ma Priere was when she was 15, I haven't watched it in a long time, maybe you haven't either. |

i tend to think there are songs that work for her real well and some that don't. mostly i think her voice nowadays works better with slower tempo songs. i think her 3 1/2 year break didn't help at all, but with a lot of practice she can be a respectable singer. we got a taste of that on the TV acoustic show.
btw, someone had a similar revelation couple months ago: http://moi-alizee.us/forums/showthread.php?t=3543 |

I think Alizée has trouble hearing her voice sometimes in concert situations and that causes her trouble when singing. It’s just the nature of the kind of voice she has. When she’s in the studio or a more controlled environment where the monitoring is good, she seems to do great. I think that’s why the softer, slower songs work better for her as heyamigo pointed out. The TV5 performances are also a good example. Again, she sounded really great.
I know it’s a problem for her at times, but I like Alizée’s sweet, little voice the way it is and I wouldn’t trade her beautiful tone for a big concert voice. If I wanted that, I’d be posting at the Ethel Merman fansite... |

I think this is the best song Alizee ever did! It shows that her voice has power.

Shes having soo much fun in that video. The whole En Concert was like a big party to her. I'm hoping the Mexico concerts have energy like this, the fans are gonna bring it and I know she can too.

She is not a great singer in the technical sense but she has a very beautiful voice and that's enough for me.

Her voice is doubled by the backup singers on the "C'est trop tard!" phrase which provides a dramatic increase in power. This device is also used to good effect in Hey! Amigo!.
