They should have made the whole building bigger instead of cheating on the height with a tall ass spire that no one's gonna use. :/

I agree with you on the height issue however the spire will be used. Ever since the old tower was destroyed all of the radio and broadcasting equipment has been moved to the Empire State Building where it currently remains. The Empire State Building is now currently over crowed and cluttered with broadcasting equipment. So now a lot of this equpiment will be moved to 1 World Trade Center's spire which is both higher and has more room than that of the Empire State Building. Also I think the Empire State Building looks disgusting with all the equipment on it, it is time they are removed so the building than go back to looking as gorgeous as she used to be!

Then worst thing is those pictures don't even do it justice on how bad it is. But without it our cellphones, TVs, radios, etc would be pretty bad.

Oh, well to me that's still pretty surprising. I've been to NYC several times but I've never been up there at the top of the Empire State building or been close enough to appreciate it fully. Only on the way to and from the city :\

Yea it is hidden well from a distance which is good but once you are on 34th street you can really see how gross it looks. I have been up there a few times (last time being about a year ago) but I cannot find my pics.

Found this video, now you can clearly see that there's enough space to build but the law forces the investors to pack everything in the center... :/
