Default Mouse keeps moving to upper left corner!

Does anyone know why my mouse pointer on the screen keeps randomly moving to the upper left hand corner? It's getting really annoying.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q175400/
I searched Google and found this site^ and did everything it said (except download the thing they mention, since it wouldn't work). Has anyone had this happen to them, and if so, how did you fix it?

Thanks

Turn off computer... and disconnect from power (literally unplug it). Re-connect and reboot.

Try a different mouse.

If you're using USB, switch to ps2 (if possible) and vice versa.

If you have multiple USB devices, disable and detach them.

Boot in Safe mode and see if mouse works.

Thanks! I'll try those suggestions.

ps2 says "PS/2" on devices. it looks like an s-video cable and usually older keyboards and mice use this cable instead of USB. even some newer keyboards and mouse use PS/2. PS/2 is also not plug and play.
