Agree! I hope once I'll have these kind of book too
In my country people don't really like French language or music (stupid Hungarians...) they force learning English... That's okay but I'm bored I know everything in English what I need to know.

@Melle Katherine

can't you choose a second foreign language in school (besides English?)

Unfortunately not. It's my last year, and usually you can choose only one language in high schools and these are mostly English or German. It's very rare where you can learn French too...

what a shame! In Germany you normally are taught English since 5th grade and a second language (most common = Latin, French or Russian) since 7th grade...

That's a great story and it's why I'm always eager to have new members tell us how it happened to them.
I'd love to track this teacher down and hear his/her story.

Why did you not think she was real?

I wish America would pick up on this concept. An example would be have kids learn Spanish as a second language since it's spoken in just about every corner here lol.

Pretty much the same in France, you start learning english or german as a mandatory first language in 4th sometimes 3rd grade then you have to choose a second language in 6th grade (english, german, spanish, italian ) and if you took german instead of english, you have to take a third language (or you can choose to for extra points) : latin or greek, (chinese sometimes)

Hi

For the first time I learned about Alizee in february 2009.
I was listening Ella, Elle l'a on the radio and idea came to mind to google about it. So I came across some French web sites that described the song. Since I do not understand French I could not read them, but I saw on one web page a video. I clicked on the video and I saw that it was a shot from the French TV. I saw one girl, she started singing ...
I did not know who she is, but I saw on that web page one name was mentioned. It was Alizee, and I thought that's her name.
I took that name and searched on google ...
First on the list of search results was a wikipedia article that says "Alizée ... born ... is a French ... ... ". So I realized it was her ...
Then when I was looking at youtube, I must say, I was surprised to see so many of her fans have uploaded those short fan videos ... so much dedication to her, so much affection ... all that impressed me much.
