I don't know how much Scruffy has got a hold of, but €900 has been pledged...

I don’t know if everyone agrees, but I hope we don’t bail out on this project too quickly. I’d personally like to give it some time. We've come so far. If the message to Alizée doesn’t work, we may still find a way to make a connection with someone who represents Jean Baptiste.

I believe they have some kind of lottery going on today, so they may be very busy right now, and probably were very busy all last week. Even if Alizée has gotten through to them, a response may take a while.

Its up to the people who donated. If they dont mind Scruff holding onto the money for a while, then I see no reason why we cant wait a bit. Scruff and I were hoping to have the donation done in time with the auction, but as you said Lefty, we have come the far, so whats another week or so?

And put me down for 100 euros then, to finish it off.

With the success of Alizée's auction, I wonder if she will do a few more? She now has the ebay account set up and she can customize a few more toys rather easily. The price may fall with each subsequent auction, but she could still add significantly to her total take.

Default I'm in

I haven't read this whole thread, but would like to get involved in this.
Time has not been on my side lately, but slowly I am making my way back here.

I'm for giving it some more time as well. We've come this far already. What I'm having a second thought about though is keeping it low-key. I mean what are the pros and cons of this? Do the costs outweigh the benefits?
Let me start with the Pros:
- It will make Alizee feel good knowing she was able to help JB a lot.
- It will motivate her knowing that she still has a lot of loyal and passionate fans around the world who are willing to do this on her behalf.
- It might motivate other fans in other forums to raise money as well. (A friendly competition is good, IMO. As long as there's no gloating, rubbing it in, etc. We are all friends. We help each other out. We all love Alizee!)
- Most importantly, if the people who are trying or thinking of hiring Alizee (the record producers/executives, TV executives such as on "The Voice") could see this, it might influence their opinion about Alizee.

It won't be intrusive as Alizee herself chose to get involved with this. Plus, we're not really asking too much of her time.

As for cons? Honestly, I really don't see any.

We have yet to hear from any of the people we have contacted thus far. But what we were thinking is this:

We will wait a week, and see if we hear back from anyone we have contacted. If after that week, we have still heard nothing, we will begin to contact other forums, such as AF and others, to see if anyone can give us a hand.

Why not think about taking this a whole lot further?
If the main aim is giving something to a worthy cause then perhaps we should consider doing something on a more regular basis?
A Fan Club i used to be a member of many years ago sponsered a child (i think he was from Dominican Republic?). We did so in the name of the artist we represented as fans. Therefore leaving a lasting legacy in that artists name.
It's not actually all that expensive and all it would take is a commitment of a few dollars/Euros/Pounds whatever per month to make it happen? It would depend on how many were interested.
It wouldn't take that many members to commit to the idea to make it happen and to pledge to it?
Just think we could, if we wanted, sponser a needy child somewhere in the world under the name of AAm.
I can think of nothing more worthwhile for members to commit to?
Just an idea obviously?
Does it make any sense?

It's something i was thinking of doing over at my own site (until it's untimely collapse!)
