I was just trying to help the guy out. I didn't notice anyone else offer to send him their video files, good quality or not. I wont make this mistake again.

sorry for your loss but you should start backing up everything , not just alizee vids.
You can read about Backing Up your Hard Drives here
and if you need some alizee vid check out my alizee folder in rapidshare

"Such a shame to believe in escape
A life on every face
And that's a change, till I'm finally left with an eight
Tell me to react, I just stare
Maybe I don't know if I should change
A feeling that we share...
It's a shame
(Such a shame)
Number me with rage, it's a shame
(Such a shame)
Number me in haste, it's a shame
This eagerness to change
It's a shame..."

For backing up my files I use a USB hard disk. Once a month I back up my entire "documents and settings" folder using the Windows Backup utility. I then take the hard drive to my office so if something catastrophic happened at home (fire, flood, etc.) I would still have all my years worth of work.

Time Machine is one of the great things that Macs now have, automatic incremental backup, so not only is everything backed up, but it is backed up as it was each day for the past month, and then each week after that. If you delete a file, replace the wrong file, or make changes to a file that you're rather undo, you can recover old versions.

Of course, if the contents of your hard drive change rapidly, then you'll need a big hard drive, and incremental backup is annoying if you use a portable. Still, good stuff.

Now Apple just needs to work on getting their hardware quality up, and their prices down.

That would have been really nice for me, a few months backup so I could get back to before the corruption happened that I didn't notice. Fortunately with "official" music, I have the CDs. Except, somehow the original leaked short version of Mademoiselle Juliette now has digital rights management protection and I can't sync it to my portable player. I don't really need to listen to it now, but for posterity I'd like to have it. Pretty bizzare, huh? I wonder if Sony is still doing the thing where they sneak a root-kit onto people's machines to take over their kernel so that they can do the DRM thing. That might be what hosed my computer in the first place. Well, that's the world we live in. You can't trust any of these guys even after they've been caught doing it before.
