Default 24 hr HELP!

In my Architecture class they are requiring us to buy Photoshop (at least CS2 version) because we are going to use it alot during the semester and in our career. The thing is that the Professor already gave us a Layout Assignment to be due this Tuesday March 09,2010. So I am asking for help to anyone that can advise me where or what ways can I get Photoshop CS2+. I'm mis-informed in how the different versions of Photoshop work or do. Versions such as Photohop Student, Photoshop Pro, Photoshop Portable, and the Limited and Full Versions. So I would REALLY appreciate it if anyone can help me out in any way. Thanx!!!!

Don't buy, it is way too expensive. Just pirate it like I did. You should go with CS3 or CS4, and get the full version.

Must admit that i know very little about Photoshop?

Not that i condone such a thing but if you are in a hurry what Jimmy said is the way to go.
It took me about 30 seconds to find several copies out there to download.
At the end of the day if you really like the software you can always buy a legit copy at a later date?

Alex, maybe check your school's bookstore. They often have "student" packages of software like this at great discounts. Or if not, they'd probably have the regular package at a discount.

{Otherwise, yeah, do what Jimmy and Junkmale said. If there was time, you could get it real cheap on e-bay, but you'd never get it in less than 2 weeks.}

Which the correct option and why?

I'm choosing 'B'.

fraud doesn't work because bumbling professors are funny in films.
effigy doesn't work, it's not used for to describe an actual person.
and canard just seems to not fit, but I can't really describe why.

I'm certain someone else can provide the correct choice, and better reasoning.

Thanks Ray!

I didn't know the meaning of canard and I had never used this word earlier. I had used rest of the words, but I don't think I that the meaning of embodiment was clear to me.

I had marked effigy/character in the test and it was the wrong answer.

These are just mock tests and I have to appear for the actual test in Nov 3rd week.

There are 2 sections of the tests - 1. Quantitative aptitude and Data Interpretation and 2. Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning. I guess I'll manage first section on my own. My score in second section is decent as of now, but I'm rarely sure with my answers. There is no consistency. I mark what seems to be the best option for verbal part. But I have to improve accuracy and be very sure why I'm choosing one option and not the other. That's why I thought I'll start posting question and ask members if they can explain everything in detail.

What I can do is that I'll post questions and answers of all questions and I'll explain my answer. Please guide me whether my understanding is correct or not.

The delicious and vast menu choices _______ the authentic and quaint décor.
Add to Bookmark
a contribute to the popularity of the Chinese restaurant, as does
b contributes to the popularity of the Chinese restaurant as greatly as
c contributes as greatly to the popularity of the Chinese restaurant as do
d contribute to the popularity of the Chinese restaurant, so do

I got this one right in the test. However, I was confused with the answer. From what I know, whether to treat collective nouns as singular or plural is perception based and often depends on author/speaker's intentions.

Delicious and vast menu choices are not being treated as unit, that's why I chose contribute. Decor is singular, that's why option a.

Oh, this is making my brain hurt It's been decades since I thought about these things. I had to look up definitions of several of the words in the first question. Canard for example, I had only known of as an aircraft part. I'm not 100% confident in my answer to that question.

The second question is easier for me. I instantly chose the same answer you chose, because it 'sounded' correct to me.

"choices" is the noun, and it's the plural form of 'choice.'

One choice contributes, and several choices contribute.

I don't think 'choice(s)' is a collective noun, but I'm not certain of that.

Sorry I can't be of more help.
