Exactly - though the question was phrased in the feminine plural - chattes. What I forgot about was that the vulgar implication only applied to the feminine form, hence my confusion over why it mattered. I hate gendered nouns!

The subtle implication was there in Mylène's original lyrics, but Julien wanted to make it blatant, which would have been vulgar, as Mylène and now Alizée have observed.

Aye, I didn't know he had wanted to change it. Makes perfect sense when reminded of the potential difference between chats and chattes, but seemed kind of out-of-the-blue without knowing his original intention.

The question Alizée answered was worded "chat," so she was being asked if she had given up on answering the question, not if she had engaged in lesbian sex. Which may explain why she took the question as she did.

I daresay it was the second half of a question, as it was asked by a different person than the one about Julien Doré. But yeah, there's that gender thing rearing its ugly head :-P

So what is everyone's reaction to their choice of questions? What questions would you have asked?

I suppose my questions would have required lengthy answers, so they would have never been used.

I'd have to see what they started with to know if I agreed with their choices. Basic feelings on them:

The first question is humerous, so I don't have any problem with it. It's good for a laugh.

The second question, eh. It can be a legitimate question, or it can be dirty for the sake of being dirty. She took it as legitimate, so I'll do the same. No problem with it.

The third question was short, pointless, and clearly picked by the station to play off the vulgar side of the previous. While it's good for a clip of Lili sticking out her tongue, it didn't really tell us anything about her. Would have preferred a different one.

The fourth question actually got the best response out of her. It was a quick and easy "how do you like to lead your life" question, and actually got a reply that tells us about her. I'll take it.

Pity it couldn't have been more than 4 questions though!
