You know, I don't get this. He wrote most of the music for Psychédélices. If you like that album, you're a fan of his music. If you're not a fan of his music, you don't like Alizée's new album.

I disagree. Liking Psychedelices does not mean liking Jeremy's music. This new album is far from Jeremy's normal style. Also, it was not all done by Jeremy, and Jeremy did as Alizee wanted.

Psyche is not Jeremy's music, but Alizee's. If it was Jeremy's music Psyche would not even get into top 100 chart. Jeremy's music is rock + pop, somewhat like synch.

However, if we look at Psyche, there are influences of not only rock but rap and electronica.

Jeremy's style and influences are not reflected on the new album.

If Jeremy wrote the music, which by and large he did, it is his music, end of story. Artists change their styles, as do composers, so if you like Lili's latest album, you like some of, if not all of, Jeremy music, and as such do like his music.

The rap influence is only shown in Decollage, which Jérémy didn't write. He also didn't write L'effet. I can find a good deal of similarity between the songs he did write on the album and the music on his own two albums, although in all three cases the range of styles is wide enough that there's plenty of variety. I don't think he can easily be pigeonholed.

As for the chart success, I think the limited success of the J-man's albums is due to his drawbacks as a performer, not as a composer.

As far as my personal taste in music goes, I think the music that Jérémy wrote represents some of the strongest material on Alizée's new album.
