Default Canal+ La boîte à questions video

Its' a tradition in the show: you can see the following day, a part called " the Question Box", with the guests of the day before, answering some questions send by people, on the web ( or supposed to be...).

So we saw lily anwering some of those questions...

I supposed someone have captured it and will give us soon... or not?

Anyway the last question was : " sex, drugs and rock'nroll ?"

Alizee : " Not at all ! Cocooning and DVD !"

( what? no sex ?? ....

That happens when you're the parent of a two-year-old. If I can remember that far back.

Question: "The position of First Lady is open. Gonna try it?"

Answer: Too much responsibility!

Question: "Why didn't Mylène Farmer want Julien Doré to give his tongue to the 'cats'*"

Answer: Quite simply, because it's vulgar

Question: "So, have you given your tongue to the cat?*"

Answer: (sticks out tongue) Never!

Question: "Sex, drugs, and rock'n'roll?"

Answer: Never. Me? I'm 'Home and DVD!'

*To give one's tongue to the cat is a French expression meaning to give up, as in "I don't know the answer." In the second question, the query specifically is a play on the word "cats," so it was vital not to change it for figurative reasons. In the third question, I gather that it is using the same play on words. I'm not 100% sure what exactly the play is, but I'm thinking it's quite vulgar by American standards. Suffice to say "cat" has the same meaning in French as a variant of it does in English. She takes it with a smile and a laugh, though, so I'm not sure it's as strong as all that.

The background on those two questions is that Julien Doré wanted to change that line in Moi Lolita to be more explicitly vulgar, but Mylene wouldn't let him.

Anyway, you can see the full video (Alizée + others) here:

She was in good company! Dyonosis (saw these guys in Montreal, they're crazy) and Oliva Ruiz. James Blunt. Luc Besson! Etc...

Ah, ok, thanks. I didn't follow Doré's story much.

Did anyone else notice that her tongue seems remarkably long?

Cooney, it's my understanding that "chatte" is the feminine of "chat" not the plural, and as you say it's also vulgar slang for a vagina, exactly like "pussy" in English. Thus, "je donne ma langue aux chat" means to give up trying to answer a question, but "je donne ma langue aux chatte" refers to an act of oral sex. The subtle implication was there in Mylène's original lyrics, but Julien wanted to make it blatant, which would have been vulgar, as Mylène and now Alizée have observed.

The question Alizée answered was worded "chat," so she was being asked if she had given up on answering the question, not if she had engaged in lesbian sex. Which may explain why she took the question as she did.
