Alizée's songs that make you think about other singers
It's kind of "Songs that make you think about Alizée..." inverted, dealing with Alizée's songs that, you think, could've been sung as well by some other artist. Or just totally remind you of them.
"Moi... Lolita" and "Lui ou toi" remind me of Mylene Farmer. Yep, now you're gonna deride me, "you awkward, Mylene did write the lyrics". But I mean that those songs differ from other "Gourmandises" or MCE tracks, their atmosphere is melancholic in Mylene's style. I'm capable of imagining her singing them herself. "Décollage" of Lana Del Rey ("quand mon homme est mal" -> "when he's bad, he's bad but when he's good no one's better")

I heard it only once, but I already know it...
'Alcaline' - Mylène could cover it and nobody would suspect that it's not her own song. I don't know why, but it reminds me so much Mylène's style. Last edited by Jacotey; 06-04-2014 at 05:22 PM.. |

I'm definitely getting a Mylene vibe from that song. Especially her most recent albums. I just watched the video of her performing it live and even the dance has a Mylenish style. I love it though.

Right now Toc de mac reminds me of Valerie by Amy Winehouse.. dunno why but it's been a great adventure.
Amy with no tats.

Well going by sound alone, Mon Maquis sounds to me somewhere in between Michael Jackson's Chicago (original version) and Yanni's Voyage
Sensual and mysterious. |
