Default The Association Football Thread

Football, soccer, whatever, lets talk about it. Who are your teams, talk about games and events, have at some friendly smack talk.

MLS is in full swing, and no team is making a name for themselves yet. Most of the European leagues and cups are done, but Euro 2008 starts in just a few weeks, and the US has a nasty string of friendlies in the next 3 weeks.

As for Euro, I'm thinking Les Bleus will win it, but any one of about half the teams in the field could take it this year.

Oh, yeah...

SK Slavia Prague & Birmingham City do it for me!
Slavia have just lifted the Czech Title, and Birmingham were relegated!

Euro 2008 - Czech Republic or Spain FTW!

A.C. Milan would be my favorite club, but as I usually only get to watch English football in the states I've grown to like Manchester United as well. Granted if the two faced head to head, as they did last year in the Champions League, it's A.C. Milan for sure. As far as Euro 2008, the Italians will follow up on their World Cup victory with a beautiful Euro 2008 win .

Huge fan of Gunners!

I'd like to see Croatia do well in Euro 2008. Sadly Matt Taylor crushed Eduardo earlier in the Premiership season, denting Croatia's chances. I wouldn't bet against the Italians.

I know what you mean. I want to follow Olympique Marseille, but there is no way to see their games here, while the Premiership is quite easy to follow.

I also like to watch MLS, but being as there is no team in my quarter of the nation and no team has jumped out at me, I don't follow anyone in particular. I'm hoping for an Atlanta or other southeast expansion team eventually.
