Wink [OS] - Windows 7

Well, Currently am using Windows 7..... which is really superb and friendly user when compared to the other edition's of microsoft window's Family, firstly it highlights the Graphics and Themes...etc I have bought this OS just a month back... I have to test this OS for about a week to know whether i am satisified with it or not! so i am here to know whether you guys are using this OS, if yes are you satisfied with it?

I have installed Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 in different directories... so, am using three Operating systems.

which OS you do prefer? ..... and how many of them you are using?... which one is the best?

Until recently XP was my main OS; currently Vista is (with a new laptop). May upgrade this laptop to Windows 7 after it comes out.

As a dedicated Retro Gamer i prefer and still use Windows 98.
If it ain't broke don't fix it!
Backwards compatibility (or total lack of it) has always been a problem for me with the 'newer' versions of Windows so i tend to avoid them like the plague.
Why should i need 2GB of RAM and a 256mb video card just to run the operating system?
W98 does everything i want it to and it does DOS perfectly.

well you need 2GB of RAM and 256mb of video Memory card because it support's a well designed graphics and make the OS to work more efficient without hanging or freezing! well w98 need only 32mb of ram with 4x inbuild video memory so there is lots of differnce with the newer version!

you should have atleast 512MB to 1GB of RAM to run Windows Vista and Windows 7!

well i do agree with you that Dos is very powerful program in Win98 i will never neglect any OS, I do prefer almost all the OS of Microsoft Family, but more i do prefer the Newer Version

I used the Windows 7 beta and the taskbar is the biggest change, I don't know how to describe it, but it takes some getting used to. I've heard that people really like it though, I didn't very much. Perhaps I'll get it eventually.

I think it all does come down to personal preference and what you want the operating system to do for you?
I'm more than happy with Windows98. In fact i would have stayed with W95 except for the fact that i wanted USB support. I still use Commodore's AmigaDos on my Amiga1200.
As a dedicated Retro gamer, 98 does everything i want it to do.
Compatability mode in XP is fairly useless and i find the DOSbox emulator ok but it won't run games and applications designed for 95/98 and ME. XP will run some older applications but it's a bit 'hit and miss'.
I don't like games in 3D so don't really need a more up to date operating system.
My current PC specs are Pentium 3 700MHZ processor, 512 MB ram and an old 16mb Voodoo2 3DFX card, Soundblaster Live sound card.
OK it won't play Crysis but it is perfect for Internet use and for Retro Gaming.
I do have a laptop that has XP installed but i hardly ever use it.

And since noone else uses windows 98 you don't have to worry about malware.

I believe there is a way to get the taskbar to look more like Vista (I think I remember hearing something about unchecking group similar icons).
