Which En Concert is the En Concert for me?

I live in Canada, as you might have known, and thus have NTSC DVD players. Now, there's no way I'm gonna blow $25 bucks on a DVD that I can't play on DVD players, so I want to make sure that this is what I would want to get:

Is there a better choice, or is the Taiwan version the best for North America?

I don't think it matters what version you get. All En Concert DVDs should be region-free PAL encoded, as far as I know (excpet for maybe that horrible Mexican recent release, which you won't want anyway, RMJ might be the expert here). Most NTSC DVD players sold in north America won't play PAL, but they are possible to find. Paradoxically, the ones that do seem to tend towards cheap, low-end DVD players like my Toshiba SD-3960 which actually does the job while most high-end DVD players seem to not have any PAL compatibility (at least that's been my experience).

So in short, it has much less to do with the version of En Concert that you get than it does with the DVD player you are able to find to play it.

I had to pick up a region-free player to play my copy, but that wasn't too bad. The important thing is to make sure you get your copy from a reputable "official" dealer, such as Amazon, both to ensure you get a genuine high quality original, and to show support for Alizée.

Well, I'm not quite willing to plop down the cash for a PAL player, and my primary and favourite player (which was in fact a rather high-end Toshiba) doesn't play PAL. Also, I don't feel like explaining it here, but as long as the DVD on eBay is genuine (noting the feedback, definitely), it does support Alizée. So the question remains; which versions are encoded in NTSC?

PAL will play on your PC, that is, if you wanna watch it on your PC....

En Concert has never been released anywhere else than in Europe and Mexico.

Only legit NTSC version is the Mexican release. European versions (France & Germany) are PAL.

All the others are fakes. (including taiwanese, russian, chinese, etc.. "releases" )

And the Mexican release blows balls. But it's your only choice if you want NTSC version (but maybe you don't notice the low quality if you stir your eyes and not look directly at it and don't try to switch to multichannel audio... and especially if you don't press the pause button !).
