Alizée record company change?
Has anyone seen this news article from today?
http://musique.evous.fr/info.php?article1885 This indicates Alizée has changed record companies to Sony/BMG (ironically, Julien Dore's company). One of the other rumor sites had mentioned something about a potential change in company. That seems like it would contradict Sylvain's statement on Nidalizee though. Any opinions?

Insofar as Carpentier said she'd signed with a Universal subsidiary, yes.
How reliable is this source?

Normally, you would sign with a record company first and then they would fund the recording of the CD, (and own it). Since it seems that she signed only recently, I wonder if she funded the recording out of her own pocket. That would give her ownership and the freedom to do what she wanted creatively. She could then shop it around for the best deal.
Of course there is the risk that she might not find a record company that would make a deal. If this is what she's done, she's very gutsy and I admire her for it. I hope when it comes out it tops the charts.
