WoW here too. Had been playing for 2 years before a friend I knew through the game linked me the dance video and the woman doing the night elf dance caught my attention. I searched her name for hours that night and a couple of days later I finaly quit that game and my life was back on track.

I first saw Alizee on the World Music Awards.
Here in Oz we didn't get to see the whole performance We got just a short clip but that was enough
I've liked her ever since.

For me it was through that WoW dance video, although I have never played that game. Saw it on related videos and sent it to a mate who plays WoW. Watched it myself, and saw Alizée... Spent literally hours watching J'en ai marre after that, then watched la isla bonita not long after that. Then didn't listen to her music for a year or two.

Turned on my old mp3 player again, saw the song, listened to it and decided to google her again. By that time Une enfants du siecle was out, although the music on that album isn't the sort I listen to really. But I looked through a few videos (50-60, J'ai pas vingt ans, ella elle l'a etc etc) and now i'm here lol

Red face

I used to kill/pass time in this celebrity collage "myheritage.com" site(I actually feel ashamed about it cause i'm an adult lol) and this photo of Alizée would come out everytime http://http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kU8...ee+Jacotey.jpg and I was like "who's that girl"...then I googled her and saw this video of "La isla bonita"(thought she was Spanish at first lol)...then I downloaded a few sonsg and couldn't stop listening to "à contre-courant"!!!...it's been my favorite song/video of hers since then. Oh I also learned a bit of French since then, but i's easier for me since my first language is Portuguese and I personaly have a passion for languages as well.
She actually triggered in me a whole "French interest fever"...now I listen to various French artists, including Mylène Farmer, Jenifer, Natasha St.Pier, Jena Lee, France Gall, Coeur de Pirate(guess this is Canadian though hehe)...so many!

Awesome story, it seems to be the same with everyone. Where some of us just came across her on the internet and got really curious to find out "Who is this beautiful girl?".

As for me I saw it on someone else's computer and when I went home I googled for quite some time to figure out who that chick was. After I found Alizée I sat at my computer listening to Moi...Lolita until I went to bed, which I then moved my computer closer to my bed and had the same performance of Moi...Lolita playing over and over in a loop while I sleep. That night I had the best of my life, I was so when I woke up.

Since it was the weekend for me I spent the next 3 days listening to "ACC", while surfing the net looking for pictures, videos, everything I could fine. Then I created a bunch of CDs of Lili's music so I could take them with me everywhere (I couldn't wait for me legit copies to come in the mail).

To be honest, Alizée is pretty much the reason I know so much about computers today and why I am a networking administrator now. Merci Alizée

Haha! Yes, it looks like everyone who admirers Alizée has a circunstancial story to tell, since she isn't known by the majority. I have to admit that, when I saw the video for Moi Lolita I was shocked! But yes, it's one of her best songs...A Contre-Courant is my favorite though, together with A Quoi Reve Une Jeune Fille. I have them all in my ipod, and she is the reason why I found myself interested in French music.

My first memory of Alizée is listening to Moi lolita in some bar or disco in 2000. At the same time the song was being played, we could watch the videoclip from a "panel" made with smaller monitors. It was a catchy song, from a young good looking girl, and in french, which was not something common to hear in Spain, so you could easily notice that song and differentiate it from the rest.
And then of course "lolita" was on t.v. and radio all the time, being a big hit in a lot of european countries. I think the lolita factor was quite an important plus, specially with the "remake" of the movie "Lolita" being showed on cinemas a couple of years earlier... So almost every tv program did the same reportage of Alizée with the lolita approach, giving her a lot of promotion.
But i really did not pay much more attention to her at that time.

Then MCE was released and i liked the singles a lot. So i bought the album. And short after that i bought Gourmandises. I was not expecting too much from the non-single songs, maybe some nice but "easy to forget" pop tunes, and what i found was something much more deep. I found those songs, and her voice, very relaxing, having a nice effect on my mood whenever i listened to them... i would not know how to exactly describe that feeling...

So i was a fan from that moment. The only let down was not having anybody to share that feeling with. It was kind of "gay", or not very manly, to say at that time and age that you are a fan of Alizée. The only comments from my mates at the time were the "She is hot", "She is fit" type, which of course it was true, but no one i knew had my same feeling towards the album songs.

And then in 2005 when i first had internet at home that problem was over, with so many Alizée forums and blogs where i could share the same passion with a lot of people
