Well the first time I ever tasted Nutella was as a kid on holiday in Germany and I loved it!

Alizée is an excellent ambassador for Nutella. I had never thought to try it until I found her. So I bought a jar and dip honey wheat pretzel sticks in it at work. Then a co-worker had me get another jar (he couldn't find it in the store because he only shops around the perimeter, and doesn't go through the aisles). He uses it for... potato chip dip. And then my boss saw Nutella Go at 7-11 and tried it just last Thursday. Nutella Go is prepackaged bread sticks with some Nutella to use for dip in a convenient take-along package. These people don't even know how they came to enjoy Nutella. It's all thanks to Alizée.

Please don't ban me for advertising!!! I have no interest in Ferrero...


I dug up this history and stitched it together from the US Nutella website.

A coworker brought to my attention today that JIF (the peanut butter people) now have a hazelnut spread of their own. Jumping on the bandwagon, I see. I don't know how I should feel about this. See the JIF website

I can be very receptive to suggestion at times.... I didn't have a chance to compare side by side, and my palate is not discerning. But I think they pretty much made a copy of Nutella. The ingredients are similar, maybe even in the same order. I'll compare tomorrow and may have more to report. I think I'd probably just stick with Nutella. For Alizée. Not that she'd really care what I chose.

The same order would imply similar quantities of ingredients.

Are they charghing Nutella prices?
