Mr. Popper's Penguins 8/10

Highly predictible. but still a nice, entertaining family movie. I liked it.

I don't know the book. An older lady who recognized me afterwards (what wasn't hard, there were only 4 persons (including me) in the cinema to see this film - well it was friday in the early afternoon, not a big surprise) told me that she was really disappointed because the film was totally different and too modern.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II

fantastic, epic, fabulous, thrilling, a feast for your senses, funny, sad, highly emotional, dazzling... the saga ends with the big bang it deserves. Even if there are differences from the book... it's simply great! It was the best way to say good bye to the Potter Universe... it started so calm, became a delight to watch and then it took my breath away. How a good film should be. what else you could beg for?

10/10

This was panned by a lot of people who said it was "dumbed down" and ruined as a modern adaptation, but frankly I was enchanted. It might be a west coast thing (I have called each coast home at some point and I consider myself a West Coaster at heart) but I loved the setting (fair Verona Beach), the clothes, the music, the actors.. Mercutio is played by the same guy as Michael from LOST, winningly I might add, and Claire Danes has a youthful beauty that made her PERFECT for Juliet. Leo is always impressive but this is my favorite performance of his, I was nearly moved to tears by Romeo's final speech in the Capulet tomb. I expected the dialogue to sound like a reading from a freshman English class in high school but it was perfect. EVERYTHING was perfect.

I also bought the soundtrack immediately afterward because it's incredible. You get the sweeping romanticism of the main theme ("Kissing You") and then you have songs from bands like Radiohead and Everclear, all of which complete the movie and help to make the "modern touch" idea work.

One of my new favorite movies. 10/10.

Also Claire Danes is lovely.

AMA 찌 NG

seriously.

This did what not to many films do; made me care about the characters.

I think Chris Evans was the perfect pick for the lead, Hayley Atwell I was kinda "ehh, anybody could have done that part", Dominic Cooper was pretty cool, Tommy Lee Jones made me lol every time he came on screen, Stanley Tucci was pretty lame though... all I could see was a scruffy Stanley Tucci doing a bad German Accent, and Hugo Weaving didn't honestly get enough screen time imho.

The Avengers (the trailer of which is played after the credits, so SIT YOUR ASS DOWN FOR SOME AMAZINGNESS) is going to be awesome. I might see it seven times.

>>mfw "I... I had a date" at the ending

Really very good, with a surprising amount of depth (more than Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris, in any case). Easily the best romantic comedy I've seen.

I just saw perhaps one of the best movies I've ever seen. Ever.

I'm serious, it's amazing. It makes Captain America look like a bunch of retarded children covered in ants.

This gave me chills, and it gave my chills themselves chills, who proceeded to then experience more chills.

Definitely one of the more interesting films I've seen recently.
Also made me realize that I don't enjoy peanutbutter as much as I should.
8/10

I... uh, I actually liked this a lot. I think Sandra Bullock was great, I mean she wasn't the usual klutzy comedic character she usually portrays.
8/10

SUPER. Crazy movie with a surprisingly touching ending.
Ellen Page was adorable and hilarious.
