You missed the point. Why pray for someone to grow out of something YOU may not like, instead of simply respected the persons right to live their own life? If she starts doing something dangerous, then yeah, I would agree that we should say something. But to get so worked up because you don't like her fashion sense????

It's more than fashion sense to other people, at least to me, because I've seen people get on this pathway to personal self destruction. It's the most irritating when girls ignore your advice then a year or two later come back and say "you were right" after the damage has been permanently done.

There's an argument to me made for waiting too long to say something. For instance if somebody is showing signs of being an alcoholic, especially while hanging with sketchy people while being emotionally vulnerable, I think you say something rather than waiting until they are a danger to themselves and and others.

Being marked for life (literally) is more than just a fashion phase.
