Who was Olivier?
A few days ago, a picture was posted in here of Alizee apparently flipping her hair. I knew it looked familiar and said I thought it was from a magazine article, so I looked it up and it was from a 2002 article. The picture posted in the forum was from a picture where a gentleman was with her, but he was cropped out of the image posted in the forum.
I didn't post the original picture or the article because the pictures appeared to be taken by paparazzi. Here's part of what it said..... ".......With her hit Moi... Lolita, she is forging for herself the image of a sultry adolescent. But in real life, Alizée is quite the opposite: a young girl rather reasonable, natural, and in love with the same boy for more than a year now. It was in August 2001, in the full whirlwind of success, that the Corsican brunette met Olivier, a student in Paris. A boy who has all the qualities with which to charm her: he's tender, attentive, and protective. In him, she has found an equilibrium. And when the singer is doing promotion in London or Madrid, she explodes her cell phone's calling plan to whisper sweet words into his ear. Despite a frenetic schedule, the couple is holding up well against winds and tides. A few months ago, Olivier even went to the island of beauty (where she lives) to meet the singer's parents.......". Then a couple of daya ago, someone asked me about one of my videos of a game show she was on in Japan. So I watched the video again and in it she appears in the show with some gentleman. I always wondered who this guy was. It made no mention of who he was, but I thought he must be a celebrity, but I think now it was Olivier. It surprises me though that they'd have someone on the show who wasn't a star. When she was being interviewed in Poland and got upset with the line of questioning, she asked to talk to Olivier I believe it was? When ever I had heard the name Olivier in the past, I thought it was the name of one of her managers, but now it looks like it was just a name of her boyfriend who traveled with her on some of her tours and was probably someone she could confide in because I'm sure MF/LB didn't go on many of these trips. https://youtu.be/pQAlCndX1cw?t=63 |

Thanks for posting this, Scruffydog. I know very little about Olivier, so this is a very interesting find.

Ok...
At 0:45 in the "video", Olivier, or whomsoever he is, is introduced as being her "manager". My first "impression" of him, by his "bearing" and "manner" is that he was a "minder", as in a "bodyguard" or some sort of "personal security assistant"... To me he "radiates" the impression that he is "ex-military", or at least ex-"paramilitary", maybe an ex-Cop or something, but my guess would be "military"... Honestly, if I had to assign some of my guys from "days of yore", to a "protection detail" for Alizée, they'd be "clones" of this individual... He doesn't look like any "student" that i've ever seen, except in a "military academy"... Body language is "mixed", and "inconclusive", really. They are "familiar", but not maybe, emm, "intimate", if you know what I mean... I don't really get the impression from this that they are a "couple", waayy toooo many "indicators" missing, but I would really need to see them together in a more "informal", "less stressful" situation, before I could really tell... Reckon this one is her "manager"... The "couple/romance" thing may just have been a "smokescreen" to discourage unwanted attention, for , if you think about it, it would be counterproductive to her career, her having a boyfriend, but, who knows, it may have been accurate, and they may have been a "couple"... Hope they had "fun", anyhow, whoever, or whatever, this Olivier was... No point, otherwise... |

I don't think the guy on the Japan game show could have been Alizee's boyfriend, because I doubt Mylene would have approved of a boyfriend being on the show. |

I suppose there's reason to believe they were romantically involved, though perhaps *after* she came of age?
If I recall correctly, a member here, maybe Mon Maquis, had mentioned that after Alizée left MF/LB and went on her hiatus, Olivier was spotted supporting a different artist as a manager. I think it was Natasha St. Pier. I could have sworn I also saw pictures of these two together. For that reason I think it's fair to say that he really was her manager. Again, they may have been "involved" but perhaps only in private and for a short time. |

One of the songs on her first album, Gourmandises, which the recording of was finished in September of 2000 was Lou ou Toi, which speaks of a relationship with 2 different men and from what I understand, this song was written from a story she related to Mylene Farmer. Here a link to a video in my drive where I added French and English subtitles to this video. It needs to be improved on but I think it's pretty close. With he or him, she's referring to 2 different men or boys in the year before 2001. https://drive.google.com/file/d/17wG...ew?usp=sharing Last edited by Scruffydog777; 05-25-2020 at 12:31 AM.. |

As you all already mentioned, Olivier was Alizée's first manager until 2004. He was thanked publicly during the M6 Awards by Alizée herself and on the credits of "Mes Courants Electriques" album...
Some gossip newspaper reported him to be her boyfriend at the time. I guess we will never know if he was something more than a manager for Alizée! "Merci à Olivier pour sa complicité". |

It still puzzles me that Olivier as described in the article I quoted in my opening post was a college student in 2001 when he met Alizee. How does he get from there, with no experience, to being Alizee's manager and then possibly the manager of Natasha St-Pier in 2004?
Maybe manager was just a title of convenience so she could bring him on tour. |
