Many drugs do mess with the mind's chemistry. These temporary changes can become somewhat permanent, especially if the person is more suceptable than some (I'll tell a story later).

The physiological effects of LSD or magic mushrooms are most definitely not permanent. However, a bad trip might result in psychosis. That might somewhat alter your brain chemistry in the long run, I agree. However, with psychedelics the damage is first psychological, all else follows from that. With a drug like heroin it's different. Max doesn't understand this.

For drugs not coming from the drug industry, there is a danger of impurities. These impurities can be dangerous (and occasionally even deadly). Also, dosing can often vary (in other words you could end up taking much more than you thought).

With home grown shrooms there exist no such dangers.

A friend of mine in college, and his fiance, took LSD for a couple of days. He ended up being taken to a mental insitution (so much for the marriage). That was the last I ever saw of him.

For a couple of days?? He had it coming.

I could offer other stories, but you get the message.

The message is this: Treat psychedelic drugs with respect.

A lot of music/art comes from pain. That pain often leads to alcohol, drugs and/or insanity.
