You may want to ditch the sig. You know you are on an american forum, right?

Besides, burning an american dollar is like burning a loonie, a dime and a couple pennies. What a waste of perfectly good metal.

The burning dollar has absolutley no political meaning and is not meant to be offensive to Americans...instead it is a reflection of how the US dollar is in a current state of depreciation in the foreign exchange market.
Together with the flying British White Ensign as my avatar, it signifies the GBP/USD currency pair as my trading instrument of choice and how the British pound is doing relative to the US dollar...and the fact that I foresee parity between the Loonie and US dollar before this decade is over.

But I am open to changing it if enough people see offence in it.

Anybody here old enough to remember when the Canadian dollar was worth more than the US dollar. lol By the way I am not, according to wikipedia though the last time it happened was in 1976, which supprised me because I thought the last time was back in the 50's. And currently it's not so much that the Canadina dollar is rising, it is, but it's that the US dollar is falling which is bringing them closer together, and the Euro is stronger than both. Sorry for the off topic trivia, but I already posted where I'm from twice.

Not exactly true for the Loonie's case...during 2004 and especially 2005, the Loonie was the strongest of the major currencies, including beating the Euro up quite a bit. That downtread in EUR/CAD ended early this year and the pair has held pretty steady ever since with a slight upward bias for Euro.

I wish I can put a chart up to show you what I'm on about, but for now you'll just have to take my word for it.

The canadian dollar was growing fast from 04-early 06, but it was no where near the strongest

I didn't deny the rise of the Canadian dollar, but the US dollar has fallen more than the Canadian dollar has risen and when you combine those two factors you get the reason for such a dramatic change in the CDN - US exchange rates. But this increase against the US$ is misleading internationally because of the amount the US$ has fallen.

These are sourced from about.com are are from May 1, 2004 and October 27, 2004.
U.S. Dollar vs. 3 Currencies
1. Against Canadian Dollar: Down 10.58%
2. Against Euro: Down 5.69%
3. Against British Pound: Down 2.74%
Canadian Dollar vs. 3 Currencies
1. Against U.S. Dollar: Up 11.88%
2. Against Euro: Up 5.52%
3. Against British Pound: Up 8.80%

But let's not take over the What Country thread with a discussion on economics.
