Keep in mind my car is an Infiniti FX35 (sport SUV) with a balanced JBL sound system, not a civic.
Sure its muffled some, but you get accustomed to it and I just like the tonality overall since its unique. Also, my car system is just so much louder (Oh and its more fun to be loud in) its great to really bump a track and soak it all in. What you do like, what you don't, where any mistakes are, etc. My drive home always is listening to a burnt CD of what I've worked on that day (Yes Im a student, I take a sound engineering class though so I do production during school and in my home studio on the weekends). I don't mix a track by my car. Thatd be so difficult running from control room to car for ever monitor. I just use it as a reference. Oh and just for a feel of what I'm in to: I don't compress master mixes. I don't compress groups. I don't pitch correct unless explicitly requested. I run fully analog equipment up to the D/A converters post-mixer. I don't sign anything over with my name on it if its shit. Last edited by neoific; 09-02-2007 at 01:56 AM.. |

i absolutely can't wait to her her sing it live, i don't think with all the processing and everything that is going to be possible to lip sync this song on stage. i also think the recording itself while a lot of parts are processed quite a bit, her voice is still kind of 'natural' if you know what i mean.
in almost all studio recordings they overlay the singers voice several times to give it more harmony and sound 'better'. I don't think I hear that on what we have now.. maybe they are doing that so her live performance will sound more like the studio recording? even if she doesn't sing it live, it will still be nice to see her jumping around on stage |

“Fifty//Sixty” could have a more traditional bridge in it and the song would sound really good. But they took a chance here and I love their spirit of adventure. This is sadly missing in a lot of music nowadays, and I applaud Team Alizée for their courage. I love the song all the more for it. I think they will smooth out the transitions more and the final version will be great.
My fear for the third album was that it would lack the magic of MF/LB. “Fifty//Sixty” gives me hope that the whole album will be magical, and more than just a collection of standard pop songs that sound like everybody else. I can’t wait to see her perform it on stage, it should be interesting, to say the least. |

As for singing live versus lip syncing: hopefully she'll sing live, but I wouldn't count on it... |
