^^

Halloween is over....... nah seriously epic tune.

This one goes back to b4 you were born, I remember back in the day listening to this tune whilst playing Wriggler on the Spectrum, I think I wore the tape out in the end...... good to see it on youtube now though.

This is my current fav (German) song, these guys do some really cool German music and even if you don't understand the lyrics (unless you know a bit German) maybe you can still enjoy the general "flow" and the mood of the music. It's about the wish to leave today's stressful life behind and escape to a quiet, relaxing place.

I like the live video version better than the normal music video.

And if you'd like to know what it is about here's a translation I did I hope it's not too bad.. maybe I just want to prove that German isn't an ugly language. I don't know.

Lass uns gehen (Let's go)

Hallo, hallo (Hello, hello)
Bist du auch so gelangweilt, (Are you also so bored,)
Genervt und gestresst von der Enge der Stadt? (Irritated and stressed by the narrowness of the city?)
Bist du nicht auch längst schon müde (Aren't you tired already)
Der Straßen, der Menschen, der Massen (Of the streets, the people, the masses)
Hast du das nicht satt? (Aren't you sick of it?)

Ich kann nicht mehr atmen, (I can't breath any more)
Seh kaum noch den Himmel (See hardly the sky)
Die Hochhäuser haben meine Seele verbaut (The high-rise buildings have blocked my soul)
Bin immer erreichbar und erreiche doch gar nichts (I'm always reachable but don't reach anything => tbh a better translation is „I'm always available but I don't achieve/accomplish anything but then you wouldn't use „reach“ twice in this sentence because it has two different meanings here)
Ich halte es hier nicht mehr aus (I can't stand it here any more)

Lass uns hier raus (Let's get out of here)
Hinter Hamburg, Berlin oder Köln (Behind Hamburg, Berlin or Cologne)
Hört der Regen auf Straßen zu füllen (The rain stops filling the streets)
Hör'n wir endlich mal wieder (We finally hear again)
Das Meer und die Wellen (The sea and the waves)
Lass uns gehen, lass uns gehen, lass uns gehen (Let's go, let's go, let's go)

Hinter Hamburg, Berlin oder Köln (Behind Hamburg, Berlin or Cologne)
Hör'n die Menschen auf Fragen zu stellen (People stop asking questions)
Hör'n wir endlich mal wieder (We finally hear again)
Das Meer und die Wellen (The sea and the waves)
Lass uns gehen, lass uns gehen, lass uns gehen (Let's go, let's go, let's go)

Die Stadt frisst die Ruhe (The city devours the quiet/calmness)
Mit flackernden Lichtern (With flickering lights)
Schluckt Tage und Nächte in sich hinein (Swallows days and nights into itself)
Gehetzte Gesichter in der drängelnden Masse (Harried faces in the jostling crowd)
Jeder muss überall schnell sein (Everyone has to be everywhere quickly)

Zwischen den Zeilen hab ich gelesen (I have read between the lines)
Dass wir beide weg von hier wollen (That we both want to get away from here)
Wir stecken hier fest (We are stuck here)
Verschüttet im Regen (Buried in the rain)
Und träumen vom Sommer in Schweden (and dream of summer in Sweden)

Lass uns hier raus (Let's get out of here)
Hinter Hamburg, Berlin oder Köln (Behind Hamburg, Berlin or Cologne)
Hört der Regen auf Straßen zu füllen (The rain stops filling the streets)
Hör'n wir endlich mal wieder (We finally hear again)
Das Meer und die Wellen (The sea and the waves)
Lass uns gehen, lass uns gehen, lass uns gehen (Let's go, let's go, let's go)

Hinter Hamburg, Berlin oder Köln (Behind Hamburg, Berlin or Cologne)
Hör'n die Menschen auf Fragen zu stellen (People stop asking questions)
Hör'n wir endlich mal wieder (We finally hear again)
Das Meer und die Wellen (The sea and the waves)
Lass uns gehen, lass uns gehen, lass uns gehen (Let's go, let's go, let's go)

Lass uns gehen, lass uns gehen, lass uns gehen (Let's go, let's go, let's go) (x2)

Lass uns hier raus (Let's get out of here)
Hinter Hamburg, Berlin oder Köln (Behind Hamburg, Berlin or Cologne)

Lass uns gehen, lass uns gehen, lass uns gehen (Let's go, let's go, let's go)

Hört der Regen auf Straßen zu füllen (The rain stops filling the streets)
Lass uns gehen, lass uns gehen, lass uns gehen (Let's go, let's go, let's go)

Awesome well according to wikipedia the single became a worldwide summer hit, selling over 5 million copies in 1989 and was part of the Lambada dance craze. It reached number one on eleven different charts, as well as number four in the UK Singles Chart. Remind you of someone else? Well the song was also recorded by the French pop group Kaoma.

I guess many can relate to the lyrics but it's a no brainer why you like these guys.. it seems boy bands are everywhere.. still nice song though.

It's good enough for me and I don't believe German is an ugly language, well I actually have some German blood in me, but considering I have dark hair I might even have some Corsican too.. hahaha I wish.

Anyway here's another German band for ya, I always liked this song.

BTW don't you know you can delete your post instead of editing it, I actually do that myself cuz I think editing looks ugly.

You couldn't be more wrong I NEVER cared about boy bands, neither when I was a kid/teenager with the Backstreet Boys, Take That etc. nor now... even if I wouldn't compare these guys to the boy bands from the 90s... I NEVER did. I was never overly interested in music. When I like something I like something and when I don't I don't. I have a few fav singers (or maybe only one) besides Alizée too but Alizée is the only real passion I ever had when it comes to music.

I keep mixing up German bands, I often even can't remember which band sings which song. That's because I care about the song I like and not the band behind it.

But in fact I saw these guys live (for free) and yeah they don't look bad. And they were really good live acts. But I don't really follow their career or buy their albums. But I like to listen to it when it's on the radio.

I feel like a lot of people think - maybe not you - that German sounds harsh and Rammstein doesn't help to show that it doesn't.
