Even though we clashed at times, my deepest sympathies for you. You know as someone who has what I would consider OCD, a slightest deformities can annoy the hell out of me. I remember when I accidentally landed on my iTouch and got a little scratch on the protective shield of the screen even though it didn't affect the actual screen (the shield can be replaced) it annoyed the hell out of me. So I can't imagine having one finger missing. It would make me just go crazy. Do know that firefighting is a hard job that is for the benefit of soceity. We all appreciate the work that you do. There is a saying in Islam and Judaism that if you save one life it is as if you have saved mankind, so doing fire work you are contributing greatly to society by saving lives. You should put things into perspective, you could have lost a leg or worse your life, like one of my childhood friend not so long ago did. Best wishes and take care.

Ali.

My condolences too, Youpidou, that does suck. Though I hope in the long run you can make something positive out of it; a story to tell the grandchildren, and a badge of honor that makes you unique.

I just talked to another volunteer firefighter, who lost his foot two years ago in a similar accident. He said it was hard for a while, but of course he got better. Luckily, you may still be able to work. He can't.

Hey friends, I just first off wanted to say thankyou Future Raptor Ace for starting the thread, and next I just want to say thankyou everyone in general for supporting me when I need it most. I haven't been around I know because I've been putting mad overtime at work. It was a freak accident what happened and I wish I can go back 2 minutes before it happened. I must say I took it better than my co-workers who were more shocked in how I was taking the whole thing, in my head I was like "crap I am gonna be in so much trouble" haha. But I must say that seeing this thread warms my heart and has really put a smile on my face. I won't get in depth about what happened I will just say that I will come back stronger than ever once I am healed up. Thankyou again Alizée America and I hope to talk to you all soon!

I can't believe I missed this thread!

Hey Youpidou, I won't pretend to know how you feel, but I can only hope that you'll make it through this.

I have the utmost for those who work for society, whether it be a fireman, policeman, or a soldier. So I send out to you a hearty HOOAH!

(Just remember though, while you may have lost one, you still have nine!)
