She wouldn't connect her posting name to her personal email address, she'd create a new one for the purpose. She's no dummy.

She wouldn't post to fan sites openly, except maybe once. When her new site comes up, she MAY decide to post to each fan site with her pseudonym, saying, "Hi, this was me all along, it's been fun, come join me on moi-alizee.com!"

And then we all have heart attacks.

Lol...great, RMJ !

I pretty much agree with all that's been said too. I was looking at it hypothetically, I doubt she would come here, especially under her own name. But in the extremely remote chance that she did, we'd probably screw it up...lol

Yeah, this topic is definitely in the airy fantasy realm. Lurking without membership is trivial. But actually having meaningful discussions in a forum requires maintaining a persona/backstory, which is not actually that trivial. Often the deception is given away by inconsistencies/knowledge/lack of knowledge/etc. Seems hardly worth the mental effort, in my book.... but that's just my take.

As for posting under her real name, I actually think that would be a bad idea (for reasons discussed by others above). In particular, as has been remarked, fans "fill in the gaps" to created an idealized dream image, and I think a celebrity actually needs to maintain, manage, and leverage this gap between the dream image and reality....posting on the forum in "real life" so to speak, would, I think, damage this gap, and not necessarily for the better.

LOL this is true, but only in potential. The average forum follower isn't really all that perceptive. And even if clues are left, which I agree they would be, the only way most people are going to notice them is if they are looking for them, i.e. if they already suspect a certain poster and go digging.

It's probably safer than you think.

Thats the most stupid remark I've ever heard....... Thats like saying I'm the man, but if you were the man you wouldn't have to say it........ The smartest thing would have been not to say anything, if you didn't think it worthy of your smarts. By commenting you have become part of this unmeaningfull, inconsistent discussion. Did I make you think now?

Oh, you misunderstood completely, Jess. I'm as prone to tunnel-vision as anyone else. We're all more easily fooled than we let ourselves believe.

It was a cynical remark, but directly as much towards myself as towards the rest.

Sorry, I was unclear. I meant to say that "for Alizée to attempt to post under a pseudonym in a forum and maintain such a deception would hardly be worth her mental effort, in my opinion". I did not mean to insinuate that your discussion was hardly worth the mental effort. My apologies for any confusion or offense taken. Besides, doesn't she have an album to get out?

I was not reffering to your comment Deepwaters, but to Fsquared's comment. Never the less if I misunderstood, I appologies.........

Oops.

Well, this is a good demonstration of how easy it is to misunderstand each other all around even when we all speak the same language.

My bad.
