It was a very emotional moment. The day before I had broken the lcd screen on my camera and only a small section of the screen was still functioning so I had to guestimate where to aim the camera. Then I had borrowed my brother's camcorder. It has a zoom lever that you move left or right, then it springs back to center. Well I didn't realize that when it sprung back, it didn't quite fully center and the camera would continue to zoom. So I was going back and forth between the camera that I was guessing where to aim, then when I'd check the camcorder, I'd find out it had zoomed way in. So I was totally losing track of the moment.
Then the interviewer came up to me and started asking questions about Alizee. That's when it hit me. The girl in the jam suit, the girl on that stage in Amsterdam, that girl who sang lou ou toi and L"Alize, Tempete and so many other songs during En Concert, that girl who surprised Jessica in SAD, that girl who ended 7 years of depression for me was sitting right across the table from me. I thank God that reporter came along, because if she hadn't made me see the big picture, it would have all been over before I knew it. She made me sit back and take notice. I've thought of a similar thing while being at Les Enfoires and how I'd like to handle going to that show again. In the past two years I went to two shows each year. In one, I sat in the stands and in the other, I stood on the floor near the stage. In all cases trying to film every moment of her performances, but what I'd like to do next year is go to a third show and in that third show, I'd just watch and enjoy. If I go to a third show, I don't think I'd be able to do that though. I'd be so afraid that there'd be some special look, some smile of hers, that I'd want to have on film and I'd regret it deeply if I missed something like that. We'll just have to see how it all plays out next year.
