Lonely List
My translation for the song.
Very sad song... It describes a lot what I go through everyday... When I'm sad I get nothing done I'm an actress (1) Sometimes Some scars (1) On my skin Scrambles the paths In my brains Lonely list My baby blue Lonely list Your face is blurry I'm an actress (1) And I act Roles of sadness Roles of fool I'm not a soloist I need you Not even a polemicist Agrees with you Lonely list My baby blue Lonely list Your face is blurry On my lonely list You are the only one listed But a few Drops of tears will fall On my black book Of moleskine, (2) Your name will be Forever ruined Lonely list Will be gone Lonely list My baby blue Lonely list Will be gone Lonely list My baby blue My lonely, my lonely list A few turns on the dance floor and that's all My lonely, my lonely list A few turns on the dance floor and that's all My lonely, my lonely list A few turns on the dance floor and that's all My lonely, my lonely list Quand je suis triste Je fais n'importe quoi Je suis une actriste Quelques fois Quelques cicatristes Sur ma peau Brouillent les pistes Jusqu'au cerveau Lonely list Mon bébé blue Lonely list Ton visage est flou Je suis une ac-triste Et je joue Des rôles de triste Des rôles de fou J'ne suis pas soliste J'ai besoin de toi Ni même polémiste D'accord avec toi Lonely list Mon bébé blue Lonely list Ton visage est flou Sur ma lonely list Toi tu es la seul inscrit Mais s'il tombait Quelques gouttes de pluie Sur mon carnet noire De Moleskine Ton nom serait à Jamais en ruine Lonely list Serait dissout Lonely list Mon bébé blue Lonely list Serait dissout Lonely list Mon bébé blue Ma lonely, ma lonely list Quelques tours de pistes et puis c'est tout... Ma lonely, ma lonely list Quelques tours de pistes et puis c'est tout... Ma lonely, ma lonely list Quelques tours de pistes et puis c'est tout... Ma lonely, ma lonely list (1) In French version, there's small word plays, which are hard to translate. They are (purposely) miswritten forms of : actrice (actress) -> ac-triste cicatrices (scars) -> cica-tristes "triste" means "sad" in english. So the lyricist included the emotion (sadness) even into those words. It depends what really was meant by the word. Whos face it's referring to. If it's face seen through tears, it's most likely blurry.
If it's face of person who's crying those tears... it's quite messy... since makeup is all over the place. |

But what does "mon bébé blue" really mean??
Blue isn't french, because they say "bleu". I thought it was a verb but I haven't find it on my dictionary... If you write "bébé blue" on google, you'll find it is a kind of nail polish... Could it be right??? I really don't know!!! |

Lonely List d'après Roman
Well, here's my cleaned up and I think improved translation. Yes, it really is sad and it looks like Alizée knows how we feel after all, especially now a year later.
Ma lonely, ma lonely list When I'm sad, I behave randomly *1 I am an actress *2 sometimes Some scars *2 On my skin Obscure tracks To the brain Lonely list, my baby blue Lonely list, your face is a blur *3 I'm an actress And I act Roles of sadness Roles of a fool I'm not a soloist I need you Not even a polemist, *4 Agrees with you Lonely list, My baby blue Lonely list, Your face is a blur On my lonely list, You are the only one listed But if fell A few drops of rain On my black book Of Moleskine, *5 Your name would be Forever ruined Lonely list would be dissolved Lonely list my baby blue Lonely list would be dissolved Lonely list my baby blue My lonely, my lonely list A few laps, and then that's all... My lonely, my lonely list A few laps, and then that's all... My lonely, my lonely list A few laps, and then that's all... My lonely, my lonely list *1 It's a common French phrase meaning: «usually it is something we say when you are doing things wrong and when it is starting to annoy you like you are trying to do something and you fail, try again, fail again...and you are getting more and more on edge then you say "oh je fais n'importe quoi !" or "je fais vraiment n'importe quoi !"» http://forum.wordreference.com/showthread.php?t=58133 *2 There's a play on words to put the word triste (sad) into actrice (actress) -> ac-triste cicatrices (scars) -> cica-tristes *3 I think this means as in one's mind the image is unclear, like she's trying to envision someone and it's difficult. *4 polemist = one skilled in or given to polemics: that is aggressive attack on or refutation of the opinions or principles of another, a controversialist I think that means would not argue with her. *5 Brand of one specific kind of notebook. http://www.moleskine.com/eng/default.htm
