Je n'irais pas aille
It was about 2 years ago, right after I found out about Alizée, that I stumbled across another video on Youtube. It was 2 beautiful young women singing a song in French on a show called Star Acadamie up in Canada. I guess that show is to showcase young Canadien singers. They were established singers doing a guest appearence I guess, doing a duet.
Their names were Marie Mai and I think the other one's name is France D'amour. The name of the song is Je n'irais pas aille. It was a beautiful song and they sang it with a lot of passion. It's no longer available on Youtube, but it is available on Tagtele. I'd love to know what the lyrics are but haven't had any luck searching the web. Maybe one of our bilingual members might know where I could find them. http://www.tagtele.com/videos/voir/487/ Last edited by Scruffydog777; 01-13-2009 at 04:31 PM.. |

Though it doesn't answer your question, France D'Amour's last album Les Autres is my most favourite album.

Oh hi! Lucky you, RadioactiveMan alerted me of this thread. I absolutely adore France D'Amour; she's one of Canada's finest talents, if I may say so. It's a funny coincidence that as of tonight, I happen to own her entire discography.
Anyway, your problem is obvious; the song title in the video is way off. Rather than "Je n'irais pas aille", the real song is "Je n'irai pas ailleurs", loosely interpreted to "I'm not leaving you". After that correction, the lyrics are readily available on the Internet. Quote:
If you have any questions about musique québecoise, or perhaps just want to chat about it, feel free to contact me. You might have noticed that I don't frequent the forums anymore; hopefully that will change next year. Regarding Marie-Mai, I don't think she was a guest singer. That was the 2002 season of Star Académie; Marie-Mai's debut album was released in 2005. It's possible, and quite likely, that she was a finalist. Marie-Mai is also quite good, but not like France D'Amour.
