As Barrett implied it could be the lighting. For me, I think it may be the actual cut itself. IDK, it's too... Egyptian? I always did like her MCE era style(s).

I’ve always been more partial to the MCE era styles too. They seem to be more natural, loose and flowing. This new style has a shape that seems more rigidly defined, almost “artificial”. My own personal feeling is that Alizée looks her best when her hair and makeup appear more “natural”, because it seems more in line with her natural beauty. As far as color goes, she has had dark hair in the past that looked great to me. I think it really depends on the style. Look at the Fun TV interview or her Ella, Elle l'a performance. It was pretty dark then.

From Alizée's perspective, I'm sure she just enjoys changing it from time to time. She seems to change it for each single released, as if she's looking for a new look for each song. When her new album comes out, I wouldn't be surprised if it will be changing a few more times...

you said it the best there lefty. i also think that she looks much better with a natural feel, rather than a heavily defined look. i prefer it when she wears less makeup too. im not gonna be stupid and say no makeup is best, for all celebrities wear some, but a little is more with Alizee.

as for the hair, i liked the older style cuz.. well, she has a big forehead! and now its all covered up.
