We have recent thread on AF about the DVD so this image is from there, showing few of the AF members (including Dusty's top of the head ) on the DVD. And one who almost got on the DVD...

Out of those, atleast BiB, Brian, Ron, Dusty and Moco are Americans.

lol, great analysis RMJ, I can only hope to be immortalized like that someday

I'm getting sort of curious about if Alizée came back and held a concert and all that good stuff, how many out of all the americans would be from here or AF?

Half a dozen to dozen would be quite a lot.

Here's my question... How many of "you" have known who Alizee is for more than six months and still do not have the En Concert dvd? It was the second thing I ever picked up, and I liked it so much, I bought two of them!

Unfortunately I agree, but out of how many american fans total?
I guess my curiosity is more along the lines of will we be the only americans, or will sleeper fans be showing up out of the blue?

I got it, final version of the question - How many of the abroad fans that would likely attend a concert have visited or are members of AF and here?

Bah, forget it, I'm having trouble sorting my thoughts. The whole concept intrigues me. I've never been to the concert of an international superstar OR met someone in real life that I know exclusively from the net. Doing both at the same time would be a little much.

How many fans would likely be attending together in groups? It would be wierd to be standing in line near a long-time friend of the same forum and not recognizing or conversing with them. Waiting in line in a foreign country having no means to differentiate a complete stranger from a complete stranger that speaks the same language and roughly shares the same displacement is wierd.

I guess the reality of getting together with some fans in person is setting in and it's pretty awkward. I've had the occasional, "Hey, remember that hot french singer link I sent you?" at parties, but nothing that can compare to an international fan gathering. Being the fan of a 3-years missing pop singer from a foreign country, whom's only exposure you recieve comes from the internet, and I'm so enthralled over is such a unique and solitary experiance already, all this getting close to a real album release blows my mind.

I'm curious, discuss amongst yourselves.

Where name tags or hold large "moi-alizee.us" signs. Problem solved

Other than that, very well put.

Wink Have Alizee? Will travel.

Alizee concert "travel plans with moi-Alizee.us" info has been posted before. It didn't seem to get too serious, but I have asked folks before if they want to travel together or meet somewhere so we have others to converse with. It would be like the guys pictured in this thread. I'm sure they had a blast! I'm glad some americans were able to show up. We shouldn't be deprived of a good thing.

I've known of Lili for 8 months and I felt so far behind the times by waiting until 3 weeks before ordering her DVD. Money well spent, guard it as the only one left on the planet!

Question Has Alizee Been To Australia???

Supa Krupa,

I see that you live in Sydney. While living here in Korea, I'd like to visit Australia. Alizee has yet to tour the Outback. I think you guys are next, you've got big cities. Is she well known there???

That would make my visit down south of the equator so much nicer.

Most of the American fans that would show up would be part of these forums. And some random people who happens to be in France or nearby around the time.

Very few that doesn't interact with other fans would come. Or you'd never heard about them anyways.

There will be much, much more European fans outside France than Americans. It's simple geographical fact. And other Europeans are more willing to leave they country to see her. They don't have the fear to go to strange land because Europe is spotted with strange lands. Most of Europeans has been to foreign country in their life time. They are more used to it.

This is something you need to sort out with yourself. If you are afraid to meet people then you will never do it. But believe me, it's much easier to meet someone that actually shares the same ideas.

I myself don't like that much meeting strange people but meeting other Alizée fans has been very nice. I was anxious to meet them actually. Because they shares the same passion. First time in life you could bring up Alizée's name without explaining who she is or what she means to you. And well, they aren't really that strangers. Even if you don't share the tiniest detail of yourself over the internet conversations, you'll get to know them. Just think the other fans as positive thing.

Funniest thing is that I met Alizée fans on trip to see our another favorite band (and singer). Alizée connected us but find out that we have many other common interest. 5 years ago I'd never thought to go to Iron Maiden's concert with two other fans of Alizée. That's the strangest thing ever. So going to Alizée's concert will be very easy thing to do for me. Nowadays I mean...

Back in 2003, I didn't know really any other fan of Alizée. I wasn't actively part of any forum, just some random visits for information (and I was very busy with other things back then). That's one reason why I never go to France back then. I wasn't ready to go there alone. I didn't really know anything about France. I didn't know how I could survive without knowing the language. I didn't know anyone to go with there. So, I really wasn't ready to go there (and didn't really have any money to go...), no matter how much I wanted. I decided to skip it and to go the next one...

But little I knew... Now, over 3 years later, that's the one thing I regret the most. I should have come over my fears and just go there. Not going was the biggest mistake I have done and I will most likely regret it whole my life. Every time I turn on the DVD it kills little bit of me. The pain of memories.

It changed my life when I realized how stupid it was not to go there. To fear something as silly as seeing a new country, or a city. Millions of people have done it before so why couldn't I have done it, too.

That's why it won't happen again. I don't repeat my mistakes. Whatever it takes, I will be in her next concert.

The groups really don't get that big. Since it's usually the closest friends you are with. The ones you plan to go there. Groups might then join to form bigger groups temporarily but usually they just breaks down at some point. It's not even practical to have 100 people group, as you might understand.

And the ones you go there with aren't complete strangers. You have get to known them on internet. You know what they thinks about her, and you know what other interest they have.

Yes it doesn't compare. Because most of the people you are going to meet you know that they shares much in common with you. She's not just some hot French singer to them. She's the sole reason why those fans met. The sole reason why they will travel thousands of kilometers to see her. And that's one helluva connection. All other connections are really just extra.

That's the difference between fans and "fans". Like said before, there isn't million fans in America. There is only handful of them. Rest of them are just "fans", people who might like her music or her ass but it isn't reason enough to travel on the other continent to see her.

Among those real fans, you will feel like at home.

And don't even expect to see most of the people here, on this board, to attend her conert. It just won't happen. No matter how much they are saying they will be there. It's whole different thing to actually go there.

I know few people from this board who will be there no matter what. But it's just a few people.
