Well I'm surprised that she is where she is in the contest now that the French public are voting. I was under the impression that Alizee was quite unpopular in France since she split with Mylene so I wasn't expecting the public voting to go well, despite how well she danced. We all know that she's the best dancer there and it would seem that the judges agree with us. However, the public voting hasn't been as unkind to her as I had expected, so for me it's all good. Also, I don't actually care whether she wins the contest overall or not, I am just happy to see her doing what she does best and seeming to really enjoy it. However this contest ends, it cannot be a bad thing for Alizee. It can only do her good now that a wider audiance can see that she deserves her place in the limelight. There is no knowing where this could lead but I would expect a lot more varied work in the entertainment industry to come her way as a result of this exposure.

My guess is that there is a group of TV viewers that do resent Alizée for leaving MF/LB and might be inclined to vote against her. But I also believe there are a lot of people who have forgotten about her and the MF/LB split means nothing to them. This group may be more inclined to vote for her based on her dancing skills. What might be her biggest disadvantage is the number of people that are already fans of the other contestants who are currently in the limelight and riding the wave of popularity. Those people aren't likely to switch their votes to Alizée, even if she is the best because unfortunately this is more about popularity than dancing skills. Hopefully there are enough dancing fans out there who have no favorites and will vote based on talent and performance.
