Got me on the mood to draw again. Continuing on my project.
What I do is to pick an image, examine it for awhile, then try to capture it with my memory by 30 minutes of drawing. After that I compare the two and try to pinpoint the exact flaws that difers them.

In other words, a bunch of bad excuses to watch Alizée pictures for hours

The two most recent tries.

Starting to look kind of like Alizée now. Still a long way to go thou.
Right now, the hardest part is the nose. Takes alot of time and never turn out any decent.

Anyway, practice is key.
Cya in a couple.

I agree 100%. Her nose is indescribably beautiful - which by default makes it nearly impossible to get perfect. I must have spent two or three hours on the nose alone on some of my drawings, trying to get that little indent on the very tip.

Now that I think about it, this rule applies for her entire face as well, so I wish you good luck, sir, in your artistic journey .

Tomtentp.... Are you going to color them or leave them black and white?

I've just started to tackle the lead pencil, colour is a whole diffrent universe for me

Right now im trying to capture shapes and porportions to get the main 'structure' part of drawing. Later i'll concentrate on textures, shadows, colours and such.

For the drawings I've already done, im gonna leave them as is. As I use them for examination and to keep a record of my progress, I can't change them. You can't be fooling around with the evidence of such an important scientific experiment as this one

Besides I don't have any colour pencils and I don't know which ones to buy.

Me too, I love her nose, its so singular. When I just knew her, I thought her nose was surgically enhanced (?), not all the noses are so beautiful.

I am really impressed with your second drawing tomtentp, you did a really good job on it. Do you find it easier to draw her in the gour. era?

Well I usually try to use the same pictures many times to be able to see the progress more evidently. The last picture just happened to be 'young' Alizée, no real reason apart from the fact that the picture was completely adorable and I just had to draw it

Althou I have strategically picked pictures that I render as 'easy to draw', for exmple I avoid pictures with teeth showing or explicit expressions on her face. Just can't do that yet. That last one was the most 'advanced' so far with the angle of her head, her pose and her mouth squish thing at the same time.

It's all good, you'll do it eventually, you've already taken the first step to creativity by starting to draw, just don't ever rush yourself. I asked because somethings such as the nose are things that will come "easier" so to speak with color shading if thats what you plan on doing.

Very good by the way!
