Leaving, taking a break, or coming back thread

Well, this sucks. But I can't (and won't try) to make anybody stay. If you are a bigger fan of soshi (which most of those leaving seem to be), then be a bigger fan of soshi. If you like them better, whether because they are still doing the 'cute' and 'happy' music, or because they interact more directly with fans. I personally stay with Alizée because she is not still doing the same music. That would be boring to me. And as for interactions, I post once a day on her fb. And when she likes what I say, she presses like. That is more than enough artist-fan interaction for me. If she did directly respond as Soshi does, of course I would be ecstatic. But I am content with the current situation. Jess, I agree. Some of those people stayed longer than they probably wanted to. More because they liked other people here. But that is not necessarrily a bad thing. They must have liked something about Alizée to have joined. I am sure they are still going to listen to her. But they just aren't as big fans as you or I.

And jess, there are some people here who maybe shouldn't be. But that is not for me to decide. But to those who are here waiting for Alizée to return to the Lolita/goldfish/bubble-popping/not-20/picnic-eating/warehouse-exploring/teddybear-burrying teen, please realise, she is 25. She does not reside in never land. She grew up. And will not be getting any younger. So post all the wishes you want, asking her to turn back. But understand, those requests fall on deaf ears. I missed that age. I discovered her last December. I would love to go back and experience those early days first hand. But I wouldn't want to do it fakely, by her by pretending to be that again. As of her last concerts, she was still singing ML, JEAM, JPVA. Albeit slightly different, yes. But that music still exists. Those videos exist. Enjoy them, they will never change. Just understand that she herself will. Just as you and I will. We all do. Change happens, for good reason. I am glad she is not still making the same music.

So if you want to leave, then by all means do it. But know that we miss all of you. Six, I believe. In one day. Terrible. But they left with their dignity. They aren't putting on a charade, hoping for the old image to resurface. They are smart and knoe it never will. So, since that type of music is what they love, they have simply evolved, as I believe tern said. They liked that music the most. And I believe they were some of the most honest fans here. Because they truely were more in love with the music than her physical appearance. That is why they are able to move on to soshi. They see Soshi doing the music they like, and Alizée not, so they don't pretend to like Alizée. I am more a fan of the music, and the sense of variety that Alizée conveys. Which is why I was able to accept Psych when so many seemed not able to. In closing, good luck to all those leaving. If you ever stop by again, say hello at the chatbox. I will miss all of you, but I find solice in the fact there are still good people. Adieu, et bon chance !

Yeah that's very classy Brent doesn't surprise me at all, I guess now we know who was trying to pick her up, and failed miserably ha. It doesn't matter what anyone does in their own personal life or even if we're not who we say we are, it's how we interact with the members of this community that matters the most.

For all we know Brent could be a gay porn star, we wouldn't know and it shouldn't matter as long as you respect and appreciate. Karla's shown a lot more respect then a few of these guys put together. I personally have more respect for her then any of them. Some of these guys have absolutely no respect for anyone, and it shows. Although they do demand respect for themselves.

They think that everyone else is an idiot for still liking Alizée and if it was up to them they would close this forum. Who says you can't like more then one artist in the first place, it's stupid and childish. By the way they have done similar at Alizée Forum where they have suggested some forums be closed, but Orion is no dummy and the force is strong with him. I understand what you mean there. Obviously, it wasn't just my age that made me a fan. I was 31 when I discovered Alizée. Even if I'm not especially typical, she wasn't just for young kids. Though, I must admit, many of the people who join these forums are 16 kids who just like to talk a lot (no offense). Anyway, I can't really go elsewhere however, it seems. I guess I have a limited ability to transfer affections. Anyway, Alizée got older and while she certainly could have gone in a very different direction at the age of 23 or 21 when she first started on that album, one must acknowledge that what one is as a teenager can't really be kept up forever in any case. I do wish she had had the good fortune and musical taste to hook up with someone more like Laurent Boutonnat, and I won't both to list other wishes as we all have our own, but Alizée continues to have a certain appeal for me.

Anyway, I understand that some people who were here and became non-fans have been serious jerks about it, while others are quite reasonable. It's only obvious, even if sad, that when Alizée goes MIA and/or changes a lot, that some people will cease to be fans. I am glad that I have been able to be friends with some of the people here and some are still around. You seem like a pretty reasonable guy tern. I wish I had had the chance to know you way back when. Amazingly, some people do return after being MIA for years, just like Alizée--Hollister for one. So, I don't know what really drives your interest in Alizée Josh (I think everyone has their own personal reasons which may or may not be apparent from what they say here), but it's cool that you've come back around in any case.

Alizée has been a tremendous inspiration to so many people, but it's really as much about the community and the participation here that makes people come around. All of these forums got really crappy for a while and it was the attachment to Alizée that kept me around sometimes and the attachment to the people here that kept me around at other times. I'd like to say that I've been an unwavering fan of Alizée the whole time, but I have been borderline at times for reasons many of you know well even if you don't know me. I think many illusions have been broken in the last few years or at least hopes let down. That does not mean that people can't appreciate where there is of Alizée now. Many people really like her new music and her as a personality. There's nothing wrong with that nor is there anything wrong with people like tern who just find that they like what they like and Alizée's not putting it out anymore. I get the impression that Alizée has more respect for people who like the artistic aspect than those who are obsessed with her. I have been both of those for a long time. I sometimes wish she could see it from my perspective, but she obviously has much to deal with that puts her in a different position, not to mention just being a different kind of person than I am.

I think there is a lot of baggage that some people bring to the forums and to being a fan of Alizée. History is the cause of that. While for some people, being a fan for a long time has enabled them to contribute things that others can't, for some it also causes them to have difficulties that others don't.

Some people on online forums, especially something as emotionally charged as this, are just not going to get along. Ever since I joined, there have always been people who were rude or jerks who would get banned. I'd say the forum is pretty good right now. And those who like Alizée and are relatively happy with things right now will have fun, others will get disappointed and leave. I hope that it continues to be more of the former (and that I can be part of the former) and for the latter, I don't blame you and wish you good luck finding happiness in your life. Let's all just try to keep some dignity about it though (if possible).
