I saw Harvey Danger live (for free) when they played at my college. They were actually pretty damn good. First time I ever started a mosh pit. Well...as close to a mosh pit as a preppy liberal arts college can get.
Anyway, I kinda think Harvey Danger were ahead of their time...or too smart for mainstream success (beyond Flagpole Sitta). Something. Every time I listen to them, I just think, "This is too damn clever to be popular." You can download their latest CD for free (or at least you could) on their web site. "Wine, Women and Song" is my recommendation...GREAT song.

Over the last 2 years I've really come to like French entertainment. When it comes to world class entertainment the French take second to nobody. The way they combine the music, lighting, sets and dancing all culminate to make some of the greatest live performances and shows you'll ever see. My No#1 - Alizee, No#2 - Jenifer, and No#3 - Lorie are just a few of France's great entertainers and they have a lot of them. Although, I admit that Alizee is unique in the world.
Here's a nice video of "En Sorcelee" taken during a live performance. Although it takes a while for Lorie to appear the build up is very nice, at least I think so. I've always liked great live performances. |

EDIT 1: Well, crap how do attach a midi?... When I wrote this I thought I new what I was doing.
EDIT 2: Nevermind; I figured it out. It's at the bottom of the post. One of my other music interests is to try to write music. Since my stuff isn't technically copyrited yet, I've been a bit nervous about posting any of it. So instead of posting something that's completely original (maybe later), I've decided to post an arrangement that I wrote of a well-known song... one that is frequently improvised on anyway: "Heart and Soul" a.k.a "Music Teacher's Nightmare" Almost everyone has heard this tune and for those of you that need a reminder, I've posted a video of how it is typically performed. For me, "Heart and Soul" always failed to live up to its name so my version is my attempt to put a little heart and soul back into "Heart and Soul." The interpretation becomes a little more freehand after 1:30. I hope you don't think it sucks ... even if it is midi.
