Im a going to say this from the start, Euphoria you know A LOT MORE about cloths and fashion than I do ... however when you say NOT ALL DESIGNER CLOTHES ARE MADE IN CHINA ... that really only applies to an extremely small percentage! Most designer cloths are made in china ... most designer everything is made in China, the labor and the materials are cheaper than almost anywhere else!

The reason most designer clothes are expensive isn't really because of the brand name, it's the materials used. For instance, Alizee's favorite bags seem to be Balenciaga, which are made from lambskin. They are made in Italy and are hand-stitched, not sewn together with a sewing machine.

Just something I've heard over the years from people who I know that have spent time in western Europe. The local population in general dresses for success as they say. Now the younger generation may becoming more Americanized but the older generation still dresses better than the average American does on a normal weekend.

I pulled up a YouTube video of three girls walking down Rue Montorgueil on Thursday June 1st 2009. Other than normal jeans and students with backpacks most of the people during that few block walk on an average Paris street looked pretty nicely dressed for the area. BTW those who were wearing jeans those pants looked pretty new or were dry cleaned over thrown in a cloths washer. They were not faded or ripped as I see everyday on the street around me.

It is true, that walking around in Paris can be somewhat intimidating with how well dressed people are on average. But that may just be a big city thing. I've never been to New York, but I would imagine the average New Yorker is more stylishly dressed than the American at large.

She inspired me to buy a pair of ankle boots. Never had any before so we'll see if I like them. I almost bought a pair of those wedge sneakers but my boyfriend was horrified.
