I might add a few videos from Les Enfoirés (Annual charity event in which many big French singing stars perform, yes.. Alizee too) but be aware that these videos are in the .VOB (Video Object) format, just like regular DVDs. These .VOB files are stand-alone files that won't play in Microsoft's Media Player (at least not for me) but will play in WinDVD and most probably in PowerDVD.

Because these .VOB files are of very high quality they are quite large, some are 350Mb in size but well worth the download. If you have a broadband connection (who doesn't now days) you'll be able to download a video (in parts) in a few minutes. If you want to see how the French do their top-of-the-line singing entertainment you'll download a few to check them out. It may take me a few days before I start uploading the links. Remember, it's going to take me a lot longer to upload these files than it is for you to download them.

The first .VOB file will be Alizee singing "Ça Va Pas Changer Le Monde" (a very beautiful song) with two other popular French male singers. She is dressed very classily, looks magnificantly, and sings angelically. What else can I say... Hey.. she's ALIZEE !!!

Below are 2 videos that I cut from the Les Enfoirés 2002 benefit concert a couple of months ago. See (In the sharing mood - 3) for one other video. All three videos are great examples of quality French TV programming. Back in the 1970s, we Americans also had quality programming such as this, but sadly (in my opinion) we don’t have it anymore. So if you like this kind of quality show nowadays, you’ll have to go to Europe to get it.

I might edit out some videos from Les Enfoirés 2005 & 2006 and then post them too but it won’t be anytime soon. Be sure to see the original posting (In the sharing mood?) in this topic (Off Topic) for instructions on how to download and decode these great videos. Please note that these videos will be my last music video postings for a while, maybe ever, so I hope you like them.

Dude, it's a monster! Besides, although I have the large .MPG file mine doesn't have the English translations. Brad has done a very good job with his Flash versions of the file and they're smaller in file size so you might want to download that one.

About a year ago I donated about $10 to the website http://www.alizee-fanpage.com/ and gained access to their FTP server where many videos of Alizee reside. I don't know if the website still grants this type of access but it's worth a look. If they do still offer access (after a donation) the password is time sensitive (a few days) so download like hell! I downloaded everything offered the very first night, about 13 Gigabytes if I remember correctly.

I personally use USENet and P2P programs to download videos. If you know how to use USENet (AKA the NewsGroups) the best Newsgroup to download videos from is: alt.binaries.mpeg.video.music. Right now, there is an Alizee flood of videos going on.

Although there are other newsgroups for downloading videos, the one listed above seems to be the best. If you use a premium USENet service like GigaNews.com then the retention rate (days videos are available for download) will be a very long time. I think GigaNews retains their postings for about 2 months or so.

The best program that I've found for downloading from the Newsgroups is called "NewsBin Pro." It's available from http://www.newsbin.com/ (don't confuse it with Newzbin.com.) You'll also need to use WinRAR, http://www.rarlab.com/, it's easy to use and competes with WinZIP but has better file compression. You can also go to http://www.findfreefiles.com/ and take 2 free lessons (Flash videos) on how to use the Newsgroups (they use NewsRover.) You'll have to subscribe to the website to be able to view the other lessons.

I think this is the easiest way to get it .. (or the FTP by donation). Also, the subtitles are included at that link, you just need to install vobsub to get them to display with the video.
