What?
He means people always say they are going to do something, but never get around to it.

How does everyone know that the letter isn't a forgery anyway?

It can momentarily boost sales, but then you're quickly forgotten in the rush. The holidays are a good time to release a single product, but not a particularly good one to get noticed and stage a long-term comeback in.

We don't know 100% for sure, but it's 99% certain. If fake, the forger went through a tremendous amount of effort. This wasn't some online thing, but a real physical letter send to Emilie's address, complete with accurate signature and handwriting, and along with a dedicated autograph on an official photo print.

Thanks Snatcher, I didn't have the time to reply earlier. Christmas is a good time to release impulse items and Christmas-themed items (like a christmas album of some superficial kind). When you stage a major comeback, and want to make the rounds on all the MTV-like programs to promote the album, take a promotional tour, and such, you want to do it at time when people's minds aren't caught up the holiday season and the bombardment of new products and entertainment comimg out at that time. Also, you want people to be buying there own albums to maximize sales, not hit people at a time of increased spending on other people. I know I'm speaking from an American commercial perspective here, and things might not be so hideous in Europe (I hope not), but I think some of the same basic principles apply. You want to try to grab as much attention as possible without having to compete with a major holiday season or having to conform to the "spirit of the holiday."

Well, in the great words of any gamer who has ever been full of themselves:
