Default Hypothetical question - N. Am. official event

Yes, there is a thread about Alizée in America. This is a hypothetical question since the community has certainly gained press notice as of late. So, would you attend an official Alizée event in N. America (e.g.: New York) be it a signing or concert ?

Please give a real truthful and honest answer rather than a wishful "yes" because we all know our limits (e.g. work, school, money, age). This may give us a figure, hopefully a high one, that may gain notice by Team Alizée.

Well I would love to say yes, but it depends on the location and what day. if its during a school week then I'm screwed. But if it's on a Friday or Saturday and in New York City, then I'll be begging the hell out of my parents to let me go and met up with the rest of the people from this forum . And if not then I'll one really sad fan for missing a chance like this.

Hypothetically of course

From past events, it would most likely be during the weekday. :/

I'd lean towards New York too, since she seems to like that city. I narrowed the focus to just 1 city because the US fans are so geographically spread out you can't satisfy everyone. But I don't want to get into that discussion since that is what the other thread has been doing. This is quantitative.

@Merci_Alizee I was looking at this terms of months, like this year 2010. What's not to stop them from dropping by en route to Mexico?

I see your point, she's been there plenty of times, and even mentions it in Les Collines. One can only imagine how many fans will go crazy if word of a concert in New York City (or anywhere else in the US) where to get out.
And way to go all smart using big words like quantitative.

The dispersion issue is critical. New York is the most populous metropolis in the US, and "Bos-Wash" the biggest megalopolis. It is also extremely cosmopolitan for a US city. There are US cities which are more "French", but they are either small - or drowned!

Alizée has noted that when on professional tour, she rarely has any time to be a tourist. But I have a feeling she might like to do something like Broadway or films one day, if only for a part of her life. Her interest in design also suggests she likes the idea that advertising and fashion are important in New York. She sure sounded romantic talking about The Factory as a long-run multidisciplinary player. I suspect she'd like to make more personal New York contacts, which a show there could help foster.

I went to school with a woman who now is very important both on Broadway and in Hollywood as a producer, but lost contact with her ages ago. It was only a dozen years back that I even learned how successful she was in show business. I was flattered that when she was a precociously developed 12, she had her friend introduce us! She had danced professional ballet even before we met. It all seems like only yesterday. Last year I started her Wikipedia article, long overdue, out of nostalgia for our youth. It would hurt my feelings if I called her up and she had forgotten me.

The other year a New York-based musical legend (who told me his physician-son lives near me) was fascinated with a historical project I was developing. But I don't expect I could take the time out to work it up, even if I could get funding - not likely during something like a Great Recession! The gentleman in question still does a weekly broadcast radio show, but is no spring chicken: I watched him weekly on TV as a child! This guy hosted Bob Dylan, whom Alizée finds yucky anyway, when Dylan was coming up.

Let me also cross-post something from here:

If I wanted to use some sort of classy, intimate event to jump-start a sales effort for UEdS in the US, I guess I would try to book Alizée for a performance at French Institute Alliance Française on the Upper East Side in New York City. Their 400-seat Florence Gould Hall Theater hosts live events, such as one by French actor Sami Frey (reserved seats $50). Because the album is set in the city, this venue would be particularly appropriate. It would not only interest francophiles, but people from institutions which had relationships with The Factory crowd. This might lead to articles or interviews in the local arts press and maybe some air play on radio. It's too bad The Andy Warhol Museum is in his hometown of Pittsburgh, rather than New York City, where it might have co-sponsored something like this.
and remind you of the halfway-serious poll/thread: Alizée as Las Vega[s] headliner?

Anwhere East of the Mississippi, and I would be there. West of the Mississippi, and it would take some doing, but I would probably be there...

Well, I'm just the opposite of most people, i.e. it would be much easier for me to attend something on the west coast. Whether I could go depends entirely on where and when. Finances would not permit much travel right now. A year from now, probably they would. OTOH, if the gathering were somewhere in the SF Bay area (San Francisco most likely, or maybe San Jose) then I could go (and would) any time.

For that reason, I voted "not sure."

If it happens in an year from now, then I would say given the fact that I live far away from US. It would be an expensive affair and time would also be a big factor for that. But if it happens after an year then I'll attend it in any part of N. America.
