As such, our "good intentions" are not tailored to our concern that a different reality might somehow impart her harm, but are framed in a manner to shield our vision of Lili from being shattered by a reality that does not conform to that vision. In a nutshell, my vision of Alizée is comforting to me. I have no illusions that the reality will shatter some (or many) of those visions. Even with that knowledge, I prefer to live in the comfort of my illusion (some might call it fantasy) than to face the reality. Or, given I ever get a chance to face reality, at least temper it to the point of it being bearable when it smacks me in the face. |

Than you, Heyamigo. And thank you everyone. You all are good posters
To Ogre: Your statements make my point. I would go on to say that fantasy is fair exchange for creating a celebrity of someone, especially those who rise to the magnitude that she has. And if we can all feel good about mutual exchage, that is a good thing. As far as universal energy is concerned, I am not sure if it is fair to limit them there, however. |

A beautiful, cultured, loving, caring Alizée is magic. A political activist Alizée will be just another in a long line of talented singers who trade their soul for political purposes....the magic is lost. |

I seriously doubt she's going to become a political activist. She just doesn't have that gene of stupidity that those such as the Dixie Chicks have. She's gonna return and blow our minds. That's her job.
In other news, 150 posts! Sorry Jess, beat you

Oh, for crying out loud, folks.
She can't get a divorce because that would make her less than perfect. She can't be politically active because she might take positions you disagree with. Cut the girl some slack, would you? She's a real person, not something out of a fairy tale. A good person, in my opinion, smart, talented, kind-hearted . . . but a real person. Real people don't always make perfect choices and sometimes they have to correct them. Real people, and the citizens of republics, hold political positions and express them by voting and political activism. It's not just absurd to expect Alizée to be an exception to that, it's unfair. And I say that knowing nothing about where her politics lie. For all I know, if we were friends we might argue heatedly. But that's cool. I have friends like that. We're still friends, even though they vote wrong. She doesn't need to be put on some kind of artificial pedestal, because she's amazing enough flaws and all.

Well said, Deepwaters. How could we deny Alizée her rights and freedom of speech, those same rights that every one of us has and holds dear and would never give up?
I doubt she will be overtly political when she returns, but she has the right if she so chooses. |

I seriously doubt that you guys are on the same page..... No one here is seriously saying that Alizée is divine or inhuman. Or seriously denying her the right to vote, or voice her opinion. Even when someone here might say she is perfect, they don't actually mean it literally. Unless of course we have a demented fanatic Alizée stalker in our forum. It is an expression of our love and respect to her, and yes we jokingly say a lot of stupid things, but. Anyone who thinks that the people expressing these thoughts are seriously placing her on some kind of artificial pedestal is an idiot (for not understanding).
