I visited this area just over 10 years ago. I had a rental car and wanted to drive up as far as I could on Vesuvius, then walk the rest of the way to the top, but Mother Nature had different plans for me. They had rain at the lower elevations but on Vesuvius, they had freezing rain and I had to scratch my plans.

Snow is really rare for these places. At least, you could enjoy a beautiful landscape!

The night before when they were having that ice storm up on Vesuvius, I got caught in a hail storm while I was driving along the Amalfi coast. That's something that really worries you when you're in a rental car.

They show the outline of Sven Otten, but I wish they would've shown him. I enjoy his dancing.
