A bunch of new members joining to talk about Alizée => obvious spam.

Ever think about skipping the college and sports forums and going to other music boards?

Maybe you should try it sometime, you just may be surprised. I've seen it work before. What's the worst that could happen anyway?

No problems with Texas fans showing up to a "French" singers concert. You sure its really Texas that does not like French music or the way the message is being delivered...
Dude, that's in Austin, where they as I said before have the University of Texas at Austin. It's more on the "liberal" side. Also, they have large open venue for musicians, they have the musical event Austin City Limits which is open to diverse musicians from different background. Try that in West Texas where I grew up where they have all these uptight conservatives. You won't find that many people welcoming a "french" artists from France. Or in other places like College Station where the Texas A & M University is.

Spot on. That's how i look at it.
At the end of the day all will happen is that you will be banned from a forum you weren't that interested in in the first place.
No permanent harm done.

I tried it a couple of times and got the boot right away. Besides I'm not trying to talk these people out their life's earnings. All I'm trying to do is get them to hear Alizée.

Well I guess all you're worried about now is the negative posts right? If that is the case I suppose you just gotta let them go, they'll be everywhere. After all it even happens here when others bring up other artists. Some people simply don't like the music, other people don't like who shared it, and others plain old just don't want to listen to other stuff too. Can't expect much different from a college or sports forum I suppose.

Best of luck in your endeavors,

Jung

Yeah, one should be ready to face negative response. When one person tries to introduce his/her interest to others, then not everyone would like. This kind of disagreement is more common with those things which are part of daily life personally.
I believe that when you try something like this then mindset should be like this "let's try here and see what happens" and too much expectations shouldn't be carried along.
I think that this forum has more acceptance than most forum do.
As suggested by Jung, it can be good idea to try music forums. You can find people of same groups (Americans/American youth) on those forums also, only difference is this group may show more acceptance.
