For real!!! Took them long enough. Now is the tough part: the off-season and who to keep & who to go for as a free agent. Lackey? I still would have picked up the option on Sergio Mitre anyways. GO YANKEES!!!!

They are probably keeping Matsui and releasing Diamon. I dont think the Yankees will get Lackey or Roy Holiday, I am hoping they get this guy from Cuba............. his name is Chaptman and he throws over a 100mph
Either way I trust Brian Cashman knows what he is doing

Well, at least getting Javier Vazquez will help; hopefully. I still think Chamberlain is better out of the Bullpen, since they traded Bruney & Coke. Logan I hope does as well. Now all the Yankees need is a LF & more pitching prospects; plus some back-ups at the infield positions. I've never heard of them guys.

Yea Joba has always been better in the Ballpen, it is because he doesnt have to really worry about his pitch count.... he can make his pitch. That and the fact that his velocity seemed to have went down since leaving the pen. I am really upset that Matsui is on the Angels, the Yanks should have kept him he wasnt asking for much on his new 1 yr contract. After being World Series MVP Cashman just decides to let him go to save a few pennies. Cashman seems like he is being cheap this yr, idk what he is trying to pull but blehhh. Though I am happy with Curtis Granderson, hopefully he puts up the numbers he is supposed to. Im scared of the Red Sox team, their starting rotation looks lights out if everyone stays healthy.

I don't know about Matsui; granted he did great in the Series. I would have keep X. Nady & Eric Hinske myself. Both of those would have made up for the loss of Matsui & Hinske plays multiple positions besides. Matsui may want to play the field more than DH but his knees are a concern, perhaps that's the reason why besides a monetary factor weighing in. Hinske was also American League Rookie of the Year at one time and both aren't that old. Cashman did say something about younger players but those two above mentioned could also be easily brought back. Nady in LF perhaps. He's a fairly decent hitter, if he recovers from his injury as well, that is.

meh he was a decent DH they should have just kept him. The Yanks still need pitching if they want to keep up with Boston
