Hello, Lilly Town people
Hello, Alizée America. I am a new member here, this is my first post! I have been reading the forums around here for months, but have never gotten around to joining. Now that I have, I did not know where to post my introduction, but since this is the thread that persuaded me to join, here I am. I am Hungarian, a dedicated Alizee fan, currently live in Budapest, Hungary, and I am learning French. Some of you may remember me from my participation in the Ventrilo conference on the Tumblr photo session.
It hit me as quite a surprise that Alizée will be giving an autograph session on the 29th, since I will be in Paris with my family on that day. Since I am only 14 and I do not know anyone who would want to go with me, I decided to get an account here, especially after seeing Scruffydog's post saying it would be nice to have a few younger members with him. I would be very glad to tag along. I am very happy to be here at last, and I am looking forward to many interesting and entertaining discussions here. Merci pour votre attention, à tout à l'heure! |

Thanks guys for the warm welcomes. I lived in the US for eight years, thus my (hopefully) good English. We are back home at the moment for my father's sabbatical. Thanks for the link to the introduction thread, I will proceed over there immediately. Docdtv, it's really cool that there is a Hungarian culture group in you area. I will take my fellow Aaron's advice and tell Scruffy about my presence in the photo session. I would feel quite honored to represent this community even though I just joined. Thanks guys.

A revolting development!
Before I get to the good news, bad news, I'd like to say welcome to Aron14 to the forum say that it would be great if he could join me at the autograph session, of which I have a little bad news below. I'll pm Aron with some details of when we might hook up.
First the good news. I finally came up with something that will look good in presenting the open letter to Alizée. Not exactly what I wanted but it's decent. Now for the revolting development. I told everyone that a co-worker was going with me. I said he was a member of this forum. Well it turns out he wasn't but that doesn't really matter. He often comes here to read the news and threads and said he was going to join this week, end of problem. But earlier today he e-mailed me saying he wasn't going, citing reasons of the fact that he just got hired part time to do the census and the fact that he was concerned about money. I never heard such a bunch of b.s. in my life. This guy is a huge history buff. He has a collection of metal die cast B17s. He just bought a B17 clock. He recently special ordered a bombers jacket, like the ones they wore during WW2, which probably cost at least $400.00. Well I had made plans for us to spend the day after the autograph session at the d-day beaches at Normandy. What could be better for someone who enjoys that era of history than going to Normandy not to mention being in Paris which is flooded with history. Unbelievable. I had even arranged to give up a days pay so we could go to Normandy. I've been there before. I'd enjoy going back, but I was doing this more for his sake. Of course the worse part of this is him not being at the autograph session. Not going to make a great impression on Alizée just having one fan there, especially an older one at that, but I'm still going to go through with it. I'm going to have about a dozen discs for her to sign. I had hoped to give him about 4 so it wouldn't seem like so many, but now I guess I'll just throw myself at the mercy of her loveliness. My ex-wife used to tell me I have kind of an inimidating look to me and the last thing I wanted was for Alizée feel intimidated. He's looks the type that's easy to get along with so that'll be a big loss. It's going to make it much tougher take pictures while I'm up there too. . I was also hoping to get her permission to take a few up close and it would have been great to have a still camera as well as a camcorder going at the same time. I should have known better. He had planned on going to the 2 concerts in Paris with me. When the concerts were cancelled, I still went but he didn't. I stopped at my brother's place yesterday to borrow his camcorder and his wife laughed when I told her I was going with the same guy who cancelled out twice before. Live and learn I guess. I wont tell you his name, but his first initial is Vinny. |
