They say her second album was a commercial failure compared to Gourmandises which sold 2 million copies in France i believe, when MCE just sold 350,000 copies.

Just went to the Youtube full performance by Julien.

He would have been laughed off the stage at any show I've ever been to.

Missed pitch multiple times. (Missed the first note!)
Cracking voice.
A Pained, disinterested performance with useless facial expressions.
Performance that had nothing to do with the meaning of the song.

Overall, I guess I'm saying I hope he has a day job...

Ok in my last post i went up to high with the Gourmandises sales
Gourmandises sold 800,000 copies and MCE sold 360,000 copies.

Not by any reasonable standard. Mes Courants Electriques sold 360,000 copies in France and peaked at number 2 on the French charts, reaching "Double disque d'or" status. This would be a success for any French artist, and may only seem like a "failure" in comparison her first album's unmatchable first place 800,000 "Double disque de platine".

I agree. I think it is always weird when a guy sings Moi Lolita. But his rendition was less of him saying he is a Lolita and more that he was in love with a Lolita. I thought that the guy in the ML video should have felt like the way Julian sang this song.
I just think that the way he went up on the high notes like a bee gee wasn't cool.

Really? So you think he was singing "Ma Lolita" instead of "Moi Lolita"?

I guess that's possible. Hadn't considered that before.
