I don't hear what you (and some others) do in the English Amélie...for me, there's just no comparison to the original.

I can listen to INT (I like how she sings "I'm not twenty...") and Youpidou, but I don't bother with the other two. Like I said, to each their own, I guess.

Well, INT is the worst of them all. I mean... It's total nonsense !

Only thing why one can listen to it is Lili's voice. Without Lili, the song would be total flop. But Lili saves the day.

Amélie is good English rendition. Yeah, you can still tell it's not the original but it's very well done anyways. And it really is almost even with the French version. Both are very beautiful songs.

I would say the same can be said for all four. The French versions are just superior in every way, and that's really all there is to it.

And Amélie is equally good as AMD.

i love Amélie English and i love Amélie M'a Dit French. i think, i prefer the French version, how it sounds...but i prefer the English version lyrics, they are so sensitive, so beautiful!
i think, French versions are better than English versions, Alizee seems like not Alizee in English versions and i don't like that way.

This is the same one I bought from Amazon US and did not receive the "included is a 5 inch mousepad with Alizee's photo plus 5 postcard size picture cards."

I didn't complain at the time because I was just so excited to have received the CD and had to immediatly hear them.

But like RMJ said, it's not the first time that Amazon has the wrong description advertised. Look at their En Concert DVD.

But if you want the original French version, go a head and get them. Though I'll just set up a playlist to mimic their order.

BTW, I ordered the above DVD a couple days ago and it has a delivery date of Feb 2007. Lili's new CD might be out by then! (Aha, here's to hopeful wishing.)

Lastly, anyone know why the price discrepancy between the En Concert DVD and CD, with the CD costing more, or did I order wrong?

I also love Alizee's accent in I'm Fed Up... its sublte but precious. The part that gets me every time is how she says "water" by actually pronouncing the "t" as /t/. Any native english speaker (that I've ever heard) converts this to a /d/ or what is called in phonetics a "flap" (similar in almsot any medial "t" like "bottle," "throttle," etc.). Anyway, all that phonetics speak asside, I just think it's cute as hell. She's trying so hard to get the pronunciation right, that she ends up over shooting.

Yea, this is the problem. And it's caused by lack of information. People still thinks that there is only one "Asian release" when in reality there is half a dozen of them.

So, the Korean and Taiwanese releases gets mixed all the time. Even people who has them don't always know which one it is because they can't recognize Korean and Chinese language (even tho, it should be very easy since they have not much in common). And stores, simply don't care. They just calls it "asian release" most of the time. Or simply "import" version.

Of course this isn't problem for normal people who just wants the CD. But to collector it is pain in the ass. You want to buy something specific and you end up getting something that you have big pile already.

I originally got my Korean edition from individual seller. He was selling it as "Taiwanese" edition but since he included full description what was inside the packet, I knew right away it was the Korean version and bought it away, at ridiculously low price since not many are interested of the "Taiwanese" version.
