Edit - They do want you to enter some info from your social media accounts the first time you use the app, but you can skip that part, on Android there is an invisible 'skip' button in the upper right corner of the screen. I think it's also on the iDevice version but I never saw it, yet somehow I still was able to bypass that screen.
