Some pictures I snuck during the weekend.

Picture I took from my place at the back of the platoon as PL. Making sure my platoon is squared away:

My baby Sasha the M4 on the bus ride to the FTX:

About half my stuff that I was constantly wearing. Needless to say, it got heavy after a while.

Hahahaa, I guess. I mean, I'd only go to military prison for it.

what's with the canteen and the hydration pouch?

Kinda like having an m4 in your hands, and having an m16 over your shoulder

We need to drink a lot, and I mean ALOT. The camelbak, which is the hydration pouch, is much more convenient for drinking out of, and I use the water in my canteens to heat MREs and make the drinks given in the MREs.

Our Battalion Commander is also the varsity track team's hammer throw guy, and our Command Sergeant Major is something like the top 10 wrestler in the state, so they're very big on being properly hydrated.

And believe me when I say that we run out of water quickly. Especially since we're sweating so much.

Yeah you have to hump everything you need when you hike and every pound counts. When I went to Philmont I had 3-4 quarts of water on me every day and water is the heviest thing you carry. You only need one or two sets of clothes and rain gear which gives you more room for crew gear, food, pad, and if your in the military ammo, more ammo, cleaning supplies, optics and a whole slew of other neccitees.

Honestly, when out in the field, water is much more important than food. I had MREs crammed into my pockets, but I'd have gladly given them up for some more water.

If I was in the military I'd request to use the dual hidden blades. No ammo, no weight, wonderful. Just that and a ghillie suit and I'll be the best assassin you've never seen.

*hidden blade plans are still coming along*
